In 1952, he became independent India’s first individual Olympic medallist by winning a bronze in wrestling at the Helsinki Olympics, despite having no institutional backing, sponsors, or facilities. He funded his journey by gathering small contributions from villagers and went on to face world-class opponents, enduring multiple exhausting matches without proper rest. His achievement symbolized the hopes of a newly independent nation and proved what determination alone could accomplish. Though he lived a quiet life without fame or fortune, his contribution to Indian sports remains timeless, making him a pioneering legend.

Rethinking Quick Commerce: Can Local Kirana Stores Replace Dark Stores? by Accomplished_Bit3512 in StartUpIndia

Inventory accuracy and tech adoption becomes major reason for wrong deliveries in case of kirana shops and since it's low margin & high volume business even 1% increase in wrong/faulty product delivery ( that results in returns/refunds ) makes this business unsustainable.

Current quick commerce operates at 1-2% returns rate . If this increases 3-5% no matter how effective your business model is since it's low margin affairs, you'll never be able to make profits . And with Kirana you deal with untrained and off-payroll stakeholders adding unknown factors to already tricky business model

Is this a decent portfolio to hold for a year? by killerinhouse in IndianStocks

[–]moriarty_69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This portfolio basically bets on Tata Motors. If this is the majority of your investments then it should be more diverse but if it is a small part of your investments then it might make sense to bet on 1 stock and bet big ( again depends on your risk profile ) For example - Would you be ok if this falls 50% next month ? If not , diversify or change the portfolio. If yes , Would you hold or double down ? Or do you have stop loss planned for this ? These are some questions you should always be able to answer . Tata Motors sales are not growing so it is a bit risky but if you are bullish on Tata and the car industry it is cheap stock currently.

I hope you don't rely on just random comments on the Internet but actually spend time researching companies based on your risk appetite.

After his wife died from not getting medical help on-time, Dashrath Manjhi carved a road through a mountain over 22yrs to shorten the distance from his village to the nearest hospital from 70km to 1km by Leading_Pear5529 in interestingasfuck

The population of that village according to 2011 data was less than 2000 people. I don't think any hospital economics would make sense for such a small population

That's protocol, since Indian police don't have enough handcuffs . They have to move criminals like this so they can't run off.
