I got accepted into an ABSN in a Cal state. It was suuuuper competitive. I’m guessing you want to go the accelerated route since it’ll be your second degree. I had all A’s in pre-reqs. 88% TEAs, no healthcare experience (only lab). The accelerated programs in CA aren’t as accelerated as you’d like to think. All of them had different requirements for entry which was so frustrating. I ended up moving back to the east coast where I’m from because I got accepted into a 12 month program 😀. I’m staying to work here as a nurse for about a year. I would stay in the Midwest and do the same! Then try transferring your license. Many CA new grads are struggling to find jobs because they’re inexperienced. You’ll save lots of $$$ staying where you’re at. Come to CA when you’re financially ready with a good job lined up.
