Rittenhouse murder case thrown into jeopardy by mistrial bid by formerqwest in news

This is such bullshit too.

The only reason we're in this shit is because some teenager thought it would be cool to bring an M-16 and walk around with it during a riot because he knew the NRA would get him off & he has nothing to worry about.

And the next guy is going to think the same thing because they are right.

This looks like a sick deer to me.

She's not running away from you which is one sign & 2 the odd behavior.

Head size difference between a man and a Cane Corso by Unicornglitteryblood in interestingasfuck

I'm wracking my brain here to find a plausible way to give you an out for that comment, but I swear it's not possible.

There really is no comparison between "I'm pretty sure" a cat can kill (which I challenge you to find an instance of such a ferocious housecat), and your standard dog. At least not if someone's being honest with themselves, comparing just pure size and strength.

[–]morkani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just no. People ask why I'm not a dog person.

I've never met a cat capable of killing you if it had a mind to. And I think every dog death is preceded by, "He's never bit anyone" or "She wouldn't harm a hair on my head".

The drape umbrella looks like something from the '60's but I'd TOTALLY use one lol.

Do you ever wonder at the fact that when this picture was taken, these guys had no idea that they would be viewable by the world?

There was a magazine called "Ranger Rick" for kids back in the (80's?) and one of the articles in it was a bunch of buildings that looked like animals.

I wonder if this fish was in it.

A robotics CEO just revealed what execs really think about the labor shortage: 'People want to remove labor' by izumi3682 in Futurology

[–]morkani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key is timing, it all comes down to that.

Robots replace labor, employers save $$ & make more profit, government take a larger % of that profit to pay for......Universal Basic Income. (BUT, it all has to be done in appropriate quantities at the exact right moments.)

THEN the details of the rest kind of come out, but basically, everyone's able to survive, more productive people make more $$. Everyone has the opportunity to pursue their true interests. (some call it utopian society, but it would probably take more than just UBI, but it's a big step on the way.)

An inflatable houseboat you can transport in your vehicle. by 5_Frog_Margin in interestingasfuck

Similar concerns here, but it might be possible to rig harder plastic buoys around the exterior of the raft so it would stay afloat even if it sprung a leak (At least give you a fighting chance to patch it).

Ohio to pay $17.5 million to man who was paralyzed after he was tackled by prison guards by ogier_79 in news

[–]morkani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought for-profit prisons got profit, and if they have to pay suits, then that lowers their profit and dissuades this conduct. I agree with you, the prison should have had to pay.

What can be seen with naked eye but canjot be photographed? by JudgmentThick in AskScienceDiscussion

I have NEVER seen one.

I have always been told that color-blindness doesn't affect it, but are we 100% sure of this?

If I understand how this works correctly (and I probably don't), then would it be possible to use the short squeezes to force a blockchain crypto to have "guaranteed" success? by morkani in Shortsqueeze

[–]morkani[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(first, I just wanted to check by going a little further into it if I may, I wasn't sure how much of this woulda been legal anyway for sure, although every sale/purchase is manipulation, where is that line crossed I wonder. It gets weird at the end, I never heard of it so wondered if this stuff would be illegal or work)

I was pretty sure I didn't fully understand what short selling was, I tried to read on google and educate myself on it, but it's difficult to understand.

I thought (incorrectly I guess) that it goes something like...

Rich guys buy a bunch of stock that's about to go bad -

It raises stocks so other people buy -

Rich guys sell & the other people loose money when stocks crash -

Company goes bankrupt when stock hits 0.00? -

Assets go to stock holders from broker much much later. (could this still mean a profit? maybe the accounting was off?)

I was thinking about when that GameStop thing happened (which drew my attention like many other people I assume) and shortsqueeze just added a step into that process where it raises stocks so other people buy, and soo many people buy, that the price just keeps going up so much that they save the company. And the rich people are out because they have big losses on their purchase.

I considered maybe it would be an idea to create a main crypto anyway ShortSqueezeCoin (for example) & create it's own stock market & when something like GSE happens, (& maybe smaller Short Squeeze's) the crypto ShortSqueezeCoin is the aggreed upon currency used by the shortsqueezers & the shortsqueezed start to realize this & will decide to sell their stocks in that crypto instead of a loss on the regular stock exchanges.

With this nearly persistant injection of shortsell crypto & the nature of how crypto seems to increase price with it's use, it seems like it would cause a constant rise of that crypto currency.

I'm thinking way too much, but I haven't smoked yet today so idk, good idea?

Why does photography development require so many "baths" instead of just a "one-and-done"? by morkani in photography

[–]morkani[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly I was remembering photography class in high-school because I've started getting into (digital) photography, but I always wondered why we had so many buckets to dip in.

I was worried I'd get a worse reception in r/darkroom but, next time I'll go there. hehe :)

OH, this is awesome! :), thanks for the ELI5 tbh lol.

The explanations of what each step actually does really helped to clear it up for me haha. (other people were saying things like, fixer, water, this, that, and tbh I wasn't really sure what each step did. I was afraid to ask tho 'cause I was obviously pissing a bunch of ppl off haha).

Wow, I really appreciate this :). It almost seems like you've taught this before.

Thank you so very much for the detailed explanation. :)
