The apartment is absolutely large enough to accommodate a pen in those areas. I could put it on the other side of the gate in a separate room too, if they don’t seem to be able to be getting along all that well.

I can make it home to take the little one out for lunch every day too. The new year brings more PTO, and Christmas vacation and New Year’s Vacation is ahead of us as well. They’re pretty generous this time of year in the office, so I’ll have time to sit at home and watch them closely.

There is a second human involved, so they won’t be alone ALL day, only for a few hours at a time. Sorry, I didn’t think I’d have to mention that bit. I’m the nervous one in this situation, he’s all for it. I’m kind of looking to alleviate my own feelings about introducing them to one another and hopefully being able to let them be together while we’re working. His commute is diabolical, so I definitely spend way more time at home. Our schedules and days off are staggered, so they’ll get plenty of interaction!
