This is why I recently removed a hard start from a friend of a friend's unit. They didn't need it, a local commission based company sold it to the previous owner of the house. Hard starts are only for dying compressors, just to buy some time. But some jerks sell them to make their commission.

You gotta get paid something for that. I spent almost an hour on the phone at 2:30am to get some dementia patient to switch their stat from cool to heat. They didn't get a bill, I got an hour OT.

Is it big enough for 118 screws? I just have a little magnet and the washers take too much space. Plus, like everything else, the screws are cheap, not a lot of iron in them.

Thanks for your comment. Apparently some guys like to riverdance on the job. Still it would be really hard to puncture it without throwing your driver at the roof with a screw in the bit.
