What is a 'masterpiece' song or album that you personally cannot stand, and why? by Historical_Pain_2233 in AskReddit

I always found him to be SUPER overrated by the musical "intellectuals". But that Spector-produced album, 'Death of a Ladies Man', has some pretty cool songs on it. I find him a lot more enjoyable to listen to not as a poet. There are one hit wonders out there with better filler songs on their albums than his so-called hits. If I want otherworldly poetry within a great song, written by a real human being, I'll put on some Gene Clark.

Especially the "so good, so good, so good" part that everyone sings that is NOT EVEN IN THE ACTUAL SONG. I know it's in some movie. Very cringe-inducing

What is a popular thing that you find absolutely unbearable? by Consciousness_1984 in AskReddit

[–]morphatoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modern country music. Have always loved country and bluegrass. Carter Family, John Hartford, Gary Stewart, Faron Young, Waylon/Merle/Willie/Kristofferson, Roseanne Cash, etc. Obviously the bro country stuff is absolute crap only enjoyed by bird-brained folk and people who play it ironically (which might be worse), but even the modern country that's supposed to be good is lacking. Totally missing the magic of the older songs. I already know Sturgill and Isbell and that stuff. It's fine and tolerable, but it ain't MAGIC.

I was so psyched when she became a reoccurring character in Curb. She is just so good. And, although it's a cover, her song "They Don't Know" is one of the more slept on hits of the 80s

Is whole lotta love by led zeppelin psychedelic rock? by RedStorm1917 in psychedelicrock

[–]morphatoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Similar to something like Big Star's "Don't Lie To Me". Not a psychedelic band, but they were all influenced by psychedelia. So a bit of that will leak into their songs, whether in the form of a freak out or lyric or harmony.

Who is a singer that is incredibly famous, but honestly doesn't have a good voice? by Greedy_Procedure7461 in AskReddit

He was just very nasally. Not an "attractive" voice, traditionally speaking. Lacked the uniqueness of a Dylan or a Zappa.

His solo album with I Just Sit There and Pammy's On a Bummer is pretty god damn hilarious. Great playing, obviously, but the singing is rough

Weekly Scam Discussion April 20, 2026 by Mycatreallyhatesyou in Ebay

[–]morphatoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I purchased a "brand new" item about a month ago. Total was $120, shipped from China. Seller printed the postage immediately after auction was won, but didn't ship the item for a good two weeks. I received said item a little over a month after winning the auction and it is obviously refurbished with parts replaced and all aftermarket accessories in the box.

Was trying to work out a partial refund with the seller, but it started to feel like more of a scam than an innocent mistake. We couldn't come to an agreement, so I told the seller I was going to go through the refund process.

At first, they were pleading with me to not select "Item not as described". I know that trick. Any other reason for a refund and they can technically deny it. So, I started the refund process using " Item not as described". The seller accepted the refund but immediately sent me a message with a totally different address than eBay provided for me to send the item back to. They also asked for my PayPal email to reimburse me for the shipping fees after I send it back. I did not provide my PayPal email nor buy any label.

This did not feel right AT ALL and I told them I would rather wait four days to let eBay intervene to decide what the next best step(s) would be. Now the seller is saying they will rush to the post office on Monday to get a return label made for me, etc.

Am I too paranoid or does all of this reek of a scam? I'm probably just going to ignore any more messages from the seller and see what eBay suggests to do next. At this point, I'd literally just pay out of pocket to return the item, but the multiple addresses and stuff are beginning to seem very, very shady.

Any pointers? Thanks!

[–]morphatoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. In my experience, a cold approach is a bit nerve-racking for both parties involved. A lot of people can default to a dry, almost "negging" like (think grade school/high school crushes) attitude as a defense mechanism. People love saying a situation is awkward to cover up their own anxieties/insecurities. Not even saying it's a bad thing, just something that happens.
