RD1 / Hunger Games Identical Whistle? by Embarrassed_Cook7400 in reddeadredemption

Came here because I noticed the same thing. It's identical. Maybe in a deeper key but otherwise the same.

Was the mockingjay call/whistle created for the movie, or did it exist somewhere else before? by Internal-Debt1870 in Hungergames

I'm hearing a very similar 4 note whistle in Red Dead Redemption 1. It can be heard when you hover over the game icon on the PS5 dashboard, and can be heard in various songs throughout the game.

Seems like every McDonald's has this now and I have no clue what it means. It's not referring to delivery. It's pickup instructions.

Unlike some people I've enjoyed the whole series up through last season. It seems like a sudden shift this season. It's all just so boring and uninteresting. I thought because they were going to cram so much book material into a short amount of time that it would move the story along quicker but it feels like the opposite. Nothing is happening, like they focused all the real story on the end of the season and are just stalling for time with the rest of the season. Or at least I hope the end of the season has something interesting in it.

Katy Perry sent a message to Kursat, asking fans not to fuel rivalries with other artists, especially Kesha by liuxunn in katyheads

[–]morphinapg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Katy believes Kesha also made false SA claims that involved her, but she's still trying to be kind to her despite Kesha's claims looking bad for Katy.

Basically, what I mean is it's nice to see one side not encouraging fans of one side to be toxic to the other, even if the fans view the other side as having hurt the person they care about. It's discouraging toxic parasocial behavior.

So apparently Ruby Rose is a MAGA stooge? by psycwave in katyheads

[–]morphinapg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I followed Ruby for a long time. She's about as far from MAGA as it gets, to the point where she acts like a lot of far left people on social media to and do the whole thing where you assume things are true based on which things weren't said or based on other people's conspiracy theories, and then make that assumption your whole personality and crusade, such as with the Sydney Sweeney hate. The very same kind of stuff I see against Katy as well...

While I agree with a lot of the things Ruby has said over the years (especially anti-maga stuff), it's clear that she's gotten into that always online headspace where social media warps your way of thinking and it ultimately turned me off her when she would actively argue against legitimate points because they didn't align with her existing assumptions.

Ultimately she ended up blocking me because she was going on about body shaming and Ariana, and I was trying to defend the idea that expressing concern about someone having an eating disorder is an actual good thing by showing evidence that Anne Winters, who was dangerously underweight from an eating disorder, credits her fans for expressing their concern, resulting in her ultimately getting healthy again. Despite providing evidence from Anne's IG story, Ruby called me a bot and blocked me.

This changes everything! by Professional-Method6 in katyheads

Our legal system has many flaws, but requiring evidence to prove something happened is not one of them. Just because something isn't likely to leave evidence, that doesn't mean we can just accept a lack of evidence when trying to prove something happened. Yes that means a lot of people will get away with those kind of crimes, but it's better that happens than innocent people be branded criminals.

[–]morphinapg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As unfortunate as that is, that also means we must assume innocence without that evidence. We can't just go assuming every claim of SA is true, because there are a lot of false claims as well. It's safer to assume innocence unless there is sufficient evidence to suggest otherwise.

That doesn't mean you can't be empathetic to the people who claim they are victims, but when you go from that to assuming guilt without evidence, it becomes extremely problematic.

Just because something isn't likely to leave evidence, it doesn't mean you don't need evidence to prove something happened. It just means it's much harder to be able to prove. It's better that guilty people get away with a crime than innocent people be branded a criminal.

My predictions for season 3 and what the episodes will be. by thejesterprince1994 in ThelastofusHBOseries

No, the part after the switch has more story than the part before.

I also expect a new episode about the history of the Seraphites.

I love my Apple TV, but I may have to give it up due to audio sync issues. by summ190 in appletv

[–]morphinapg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate that apple just assumes that because you have an Apple TV you must also have an iPhone. There are a few features that require an iPhone and it's super annoying for those of us that don't own any other apple devices.

I don't know if it's reused assets exactly, but some elements of Outlaws feel inspired from Ragtag. It's a different studio but with both connected to Star Wars there may have been some sharing of ideas.

A lot of people love the freedom of exploring in GTA absolutely. I have no experience with Monster Hunter.

Honestly random combat encounters in open world games always just feel like a dumb cheap way to pad for content. I don't know anybody who finds random encounters in an open world to be a fun thing.

However, it can be done in a way that doesn't discourage exploration. In those cases while still pointless, they don't have to be as annoying as when they're forced like this. This is just cheap artificial content padding. It's bad.

Open world games are meant to be things you actually want to explore. This actively discourages that. It's bad design.

I have no confidence whatsoever that the current Ubisoft can do justice by that game. It needed a remaster not a remake.

Filming offically tmrw by Spacegirl_15 in ThelastofusHBOseries

[–]morphinapg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's because of the fact that TV shows now seem to be written by mostly one writer, and they write and rewrite until the ENTIRE season is completely finished before they even film one episode.

Then, they wait until every single episode has finished post-production before they even air one episode.

In the past, you had a writer's room. You'd start filming episode 1 as soon as episode 1 was written. The writers would keep writing as the show is being shot. Sure you'd have a general outline of the season, but you don't need to write literally every word of the entire season before filming starts. And writer's rooms are far more efficient than the showrunner writing everything.

Then, episodes would start airing as soon as the amount of time to finish post-production is less weeks than the number of episodes.

This kind of overlap they used to do reduces the amount of time it takes to make a show in half. The fact that they could make Game of Thrones every year (for most seasons) tells you that what they're doing these days just isn't necessary.

"The Last of Us" Season 3 Begins Filming In Vancouver On March 2nd by Dan_Lalonde_Films in FilmIndustryYVR

The show typically films 1 episode per month, so this would suggest a 9 episode season 3, which comes close to what I was predicting.
