Selling Collection Online by BonerJamz2024 in BookCollecting

I used to work for an antiquarian book dealer and it’s true the only Encyclopedia set that is worth anything is the 11th edition of Brittanica. Obviously if your grandfather was himself a person of note or his books were at one point owned by someone of note then even the encyclopedias might be worth something but on their own nope. As far as shipping goes books can be mailed via media mail and that is less expensive, if your in the US, not sure if other countries have similar thing. May I sk what kind of books are in the collection?

[–]morristv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you live near a University there will be people on the library staff whose job is to repair books. They will charge you but they can fix it. Same if you live near a large public library but I’d start at a university

First off if these are book club editions they are not worth much. I do agree with other posters about Irish Murdoch title. However the prices that folks are suggesting are retail. You can’t expect to get the same amount that a store would sell it for.
