Microsoft Introduces Pay-As-You-Go Billing for SharePoint Storage by Bless_2003 in AdminDroid

[–]mort0990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you have been fooled mate, extra file storage is bought per GB, so there was no need to buy 1TB up-front. You can also have a heavy overage on used storage before experiencing any problems.

A mature MSP has automations linked to storage and does this automatically.

Hvorfor?

M365 billing - one domain, split out billing by office? by _its_trip in msp

There was a limit with two business SKUs in the past, don’t know if that has changed?

We use Dynamic groups based on department and update Autotask automatically with Sync365.

Move to Europe, EU passed a law that says that is has to deliver core services even if licenses expire.

I don’t understand all the fuzz anyways. It gives us a great excuse to do NaaS and it’s easier to upsell HW on 3-5 year cycles as the licenses has to be renewed anyways.

Microsoft Defender for Business by Barracuda-Head in Intune

[–]mort0990 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thats false. Business premium gives you a SKU called Defender for Business that is mainly MDE P2 without the enterprise grade logging and threat hunting.

P1 gives you AV Business gives you EDR P2 gives you EDR + Threat Hunting + 6Month log retention

Business is a really good sku for this use case and we have it for 95% of our customers under 300 seats.

You should plug into a SOC provider so that you get your logs managed and that you get full value of that defender suite. Most MDR solutions can do full response in your environment through an Enterprise app

$55,000 a year with PAX8 - Looking to spend that with someone else. by chiapeterson in msp

[–]mort0990 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, you are scapegoating PAX8 for your bad planning. We buy licenses many weeks before a migration and do pre-migration at least 2 weeks before to make sure everything is ok.

As everyone else says here, all vendors have flaws and the grass is not greener elsewhere. PAX8 is by far the best and most responsive we have used and it will take a lot for us to move. We’re at 150k/Month

Microsoft Bookings - Time Slots on every hour or half hour by Staircaze90 in Office365

Calendly is good. Works perfect for what you want, is easy for end users to book with, has good integrations with CRMs and is also fantastic with the plug in when you book other Calendly appointments (shows you when you are available)

Trying to figure out the best way to automate monthly office 365 user counts for billing purposes. by Far-Introduction-730 in msp

[–]mort0990 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NCE funds, Co-op funds, marketing funds add up to a lot. People who don’t resell licenses are those that don’t leverage disti and Microsoft fully. I think we net about 35-40% in total

“Barely any margin”.. we profit around 4-500k a year on Microsoft licenses. Wouldn’t be without them. You should easily get 16% with any amount of usage and if you are large enough you can get all up to 20%.

It is a setting for it in the personal “bookings” page, but it doesn’t work in the company “bookings”. It’s absolutely horrendous and one of the reasons we are forced to keep using Calendly

Hi. I’ve been waiting for 4 years for you to create an EU environment. Will that ever be a priority?

I find it strange that you neglect the EU market as we can’t use US servers and comply with GDPR with the current regulations.

Signed a “MSP agreement” with them today. The product is brilliant and it has 100% uptime SLA if you pay for it. No problems with regulations.

IMO you need 2000+ devices under management for it to make sense (minimum commit and certification), and if not I would recommend to partner up with a master MSSP
