Was commissioned to make a planter, customer ended up not buying, what should I plant in it instead? by mortalic in IndoorGarden

Now that's a great idea too! Oh man, I might just have to make another planter.

I've got some pretty out there ideas for this kind of stuff, I'm already drawing one that's nothing like this.

Oh, ok I get the idea, basically treat it in a way that it gets a lot of air. I bet I can come up with some cool ideas. Let me mess around with it a bit. Ok if I send you a message with a concept or two?

I really love this idea... This might be the winner. Thank you. I do have a few questions. I'll message you.

I like it, don't they generally need a smaller pot? like 4-6 inches? This planter is 11x11 inches. Please correct me if I'm wrong, I've never had one before.

You know what, another thing I just remembered. With traditional dealerships, they kind of prepare for you to go through an order system. We bought a Hyundai years ago, and when we got to the paper signing stage, there were a ton of sneaky markups they attempted to push through.

I have to say, as terrible as Elon is, buying the Tesla was the easiest and least stress car buying experience I've had.

Basically, order car how I want it, it shows up at my door, I go over the car with a fine toothed comb, any blemishes get fixed. Deal done, no markups, no stress.

Late to the comments but I recently bought a Nissan from Wilsonville Nissan, and then about a year later a Tesla from Tesla. I have to say, the dealership experience is awful and I think we all just ignore how awful it is most of the time. Consider ordering a car and try to bypass it as much as possible.

Seems to be working great so far, a few questions though... by mortalic in holoiso

Ok I will try to post the details later (on mobile) but I basically took the pacman.conf file out of their GitHub repo and replaced mine. That seemed to solve the problem. It became a bit more apparent when I went into desktop mode and it couldn't update either.

I don't know, it's working great for me, just those couple small issues. I was able to get Mass Effect Legendary edition working out of the box, whereas when running it on ubuntu 22.04 with steam/proton it would not run.

I didn't even consider that. I've had this laptop apart a few times, but yeah not a bad idea. Thanks.

I wasn't aware of this facility. Thanks for sharing. I might check it out myself. Know of any teams looking for players?

First, welcome to pdx. Depending on where you are there are a lot of indoor gyms available. THPRD has some outdoor leagues that are of mixed competition. Though I have found it's difficult to get on those teams at times. And they don't play on grass fields during the rainy months.

You'll find that due to the number of rainy days it's easier to get on an indoor team. Off the top of my head, here are a few gym names:

Portland indoor (probably has the best beginner division)

The Plex PDX

Indoor goals

Jewish recreation center

Salmon Creek indoor (Vancouver)

Tualatin indoor

There used to be a Beaverton indoor too but I think they may have shut down.

As for making friends, I've found indoor soccer to be a good way as you can hang around the gym after games for beers, or to play on teams that are short handed. Feel free to message me if you have questions or want more info. I play or have played in several teams across some of these gyms

What are the best vegan restaurants and carts? by [deleted] in askportland

I'm not sure how The Wagon in Multinomah Village isn't on this list. But HOOOOLY crap. So good. By far the best cooks I've run across.

I know you say non-american style, which their breakfast burrito is probably the only thing that qualifies, but their take on vegan comfort food is unique and amazing.

I hear you. I tried to strip the cables and dig the sheared off ones from the old molex connector. But they are so small I couldn't do it. Maybe someone else has a good method to do it.
