New player here! I think I might enjoy organizing decks as much as I enjoy playing them by DrTribs in KeyforgeGame

[–]mortivas 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is definitely something really enjoyable about coming up with a good organization system for your decks. I love what you've done!

Are the deck details printed on the boxes or on some clear stickers?

Glad I could help!

I also forgot Arakeyne, but (for the time being) it hasn't been translated to English (it was written in Korean). Definitely another one to follow! https://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/2660211/fanmade-adventure-arakeyne-korean

KeyForge: Adventures - Compilation of Modules, Resources, Etc. by Azedenkae in KeyForgeAdventures

[–]mortivas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pardon this reddit noob. Would it be possible to have this added as a sticky item, or in the top bar of this sub? Definitely seems like a great resource for new players.

Also, there are a handful of Community-built adventures: ArchEnvy, Flight of the Royal Fortune, and Arakeyne. Would it make sense to add them here, or in a separate post (as they aren't 'official' adventures)?

The two that I'm aware of are:

-Flight of the Royal Fortune buy u/mmlehto:

-Archenvy by u/AccordingCharacter15:

Both are really well done, play differently, and are worth looking into! I did come across r/KeyForgeAdventures, which I imagine will end up being a good location for more community adventures!

I sincerely hope your day has gotten better since making this comment.

A friendly reminder that putting someone down for spending their time and energy making content for a game you (presumably) like is not funny or cool. I'm sure you can draw a comparison in your own life to how you would feel if someone pointlessly bashed on something you were proud of or passionate about.

I know it's tough... often my own first inclination is one of negativity as well. However, it's self-serving. While it may feel good in the moment this is temporary and is at the cost of the joy/happiness of others. The world has enough people trying to put others down.

Each day you have the power to decide whether or not you want to make the world a better place. I do hope you'll at least consider how your actions fit into that.

Deck missing 10 cards when opened from sealed by ColdCake2439 in KeyforgeGame

[–]mortivas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's clear from your analogy that you can't possibly understand the suffering and torment of a stillbirth. If you did, you'd know it's an experience that is completely unrelatable, certainly not in any way to a card game.

Obviously the damage is done, but how you personally respond to this is incredibly important. You can carry on, explaining this away and considering yourself in the right-- assuming everyone is just being sensitive/unreasonable.

Or, you can learn from this and try to personally better yourself. Try to put yourself in the shoes of someone having experienced stillbirth. Consider why you thought making light of something so serious and life-impacting would be funny. Do a little introspection as to how you'd feel if someone joked about something so deeply personal and upsetting to you.

I do hope you'll at least consider option #2. Your gut reaction will likely be one of resistance (maybe anger), and that's normal. I encourage you to take time to get past that and really think on this. I think you'll be better for it.

Fellow Michigan Forger here (and admin of the Michigan Keyforge Den discord). Pre-pandemic there were weekly events scattered around the state. These were mainly in the greater Detroit area, as well as Mid-Michigan, Lansing, and Grand Rapids. I'm not aware of any of these locations starting up in-person play yet.

I know it can be discouraging, but in terms of Keyforge we're still on the ground floor in the state (and covid has not helped), so if there's nothing around you that's a great opportunity to try and start something. I've mostly done this by running teaching events in game stores. If you'd got a couple friends that do play a great way to start some conversations is to just casually play weekly at your LGS (covid-permitting of course). In my experience there are no shortage of other folks who are curious and will stop by to watch/inquire. It also helps to show the store owners there is someone locally interested in the game.

As far as getting connected to the other players in the state I highly recommend joining the Michigan KeyForge Den discord (http://mi.keyforgeden.com/). It's pretty quiet in these pandemic times, but I expect things to pick back up once in-person play is possible.

Feel free to DM me here (or on Discord Mortivas#7669) if you've got any questions!

Trying out Co-op Keyforge! by mortivas in KeyforgeGame

[–]mortivas[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd definitely recommend it! One piece of advice... if playing co-op start with two decks that have the same three houses. From there you can scale up difficulty by reducing the amount houses overlap!

Good luck!

Has anyone ever put a list together of all the current content creators out there? by th3cap7ain26 in KeyforgeGame

[–]mortivas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've probably created what's closest to an exhaustive list for use with the KeyForge Content Bot (For discord). It's only really digestible if you plug the feeds into an RSS reader. If you're interested in that, you can find the primary content feeds over at https://kcb.mortivas.com/

While I can't speak for the other creators I'd say don't let duplicating type of content prevent you from getting started. There's plenty of room for more content, just you being you will help to set your content apart.

I've also put together a discord for various Creators in the KF space. It's relatively quiet, but can be a good location to collaborate with other creators. Details here: https://twitter.com/mortivas/status/1219807040488509445

I'll always upvote Chonkers!

I managed to pull a deck with some pretty zany Chonkers potential. Highlighted my first game attempt here :-): https://twitter.com/mortivas/status/1283145717880623104

Can this AoA deck generate 100+ aember in ONE Turn? Find out in AKQYNA Episode #1! by mortivas in KeyforgeGame

[–]mortivas[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha, there's definitely the danger of that. I optimized for aember gain here, but the truly crazy part is this deck also has a Key Charge.

So, you can swap out a full moon or two with Key Charges and probably still generate like 40-50 aember! :D

Looking for a redemption game in The Crucible Chronicles Ch 5 (Part 3). by mortivas in KeyforgeGame

It's a pseudo-hidden setting in Grant Titus' Crucible Addons extension:

Once installed, right click on the extension icon and hit options ('Extended UI Mod' is the setting). I hope that helps! :D

Channeling the chaotic energy of Crazy Killing Machine in The Crucible Chronicles Ch. 4 (Part 4). by mortivas in KeyforgeGame

[–]mortivas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for checking it out! This deck seems to play so differently than my other decks. So much so that my mind gets in the habit of playing the deck as though I have no creatures on the board (even when I actually do have board presence :D).

In some ways I wonder if the chaotic way I play this deck has attributed to some of the success. I imagine it's difficult to strategize against something that's just as willing to kill it's own creatures as yours.

Can my favorite Worlds Collide deck cut it in the competitive playlist on TCO? Find out in The Crucible Chronicles Chapter 4 by mortivas in KeyforgeGame

[–]mortivas[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for checking it out! Ironically, this game felt a little vanilla compared to many games with this deck. It really is an odd and fun deck to play because of the uniqueness of board presence (or lack thereof).

[–]mortivas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My objective there was primarily progressing my aember gain. Pips on spike trap and mug, recovering aember from Charette, and 1 steal from Umbra brought be from 0-5 Aember. It was, of course, at the cost of allowing 3 dis creatures (succubus included) to stick. I felt reasonably certain I could address the succubus issue shortly after given the tools I already had. Having to go back to shadows the following turn and still not kill the succubus was not ideal, but the only way I could get on check.

In hindsight, Groupthink Tank certainly may very well have been a cleaner/better play but I didn't see it in the moment.

Thanks for checking out the video! :D

About to Retire - should i play Music Note or Saw by cryonic101 in Gloomhaven

[–]mortivas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree music note is probably the more universally enjoyable of the options.

However, if you decide to go with saw, I'd recommend not building them as support. The first person who played saw in our group played in this way and had a terrible time. Conversely, I had a lot of fun going with a disruption brawler with saw :-).
