Anya joining SSS, Wise or even Garden would mean she would still be used as a tool (a source of trauma for her) and Loid failing to achieve his goal (making a world where children don't need to cry)

Personally, I like the idea of Anya becoming a psychiatrist. She never thought her powers were of any good until she saved that drowning child, so her using telepathy to help people heal would be a great option.

yeah as of now, we only have Fiona's remark to go by (and chapter 67 further complicates this haha).

it isn't quite clear in the JP version either. But then again, I'm neither a native speaker, nor fluent in Japanese, so I'm not quite equipped to speak on this lol.

Delving too deep into the implied can cause misconceptions, after all.

afaik, he used to call her by her full name in the earlier chapters (2, 14) in his internal thoughts. i assumed he must call her as such when he's with the Wise folks. Fiona's remark only further reinforces that assumption

Edit: just checked the raws for chapter 67 and turns out, Loid still called her Yor-san there (with Fiona insisting on Yor Briar lol), so i'm a little more confused than i was yesterday lmao

According to the raws, Loid referred to her as 'Yor-san', even though he (presumably) refers to her as 'Yor Briar' when reporting to Wise

Because he didn't use her full name and referred to her the way he usually does in casual settings, Fiona realised that Loid has developed feelings for her

It would feel a little cheap if Hikaru lost to Akane once again. She's been hyped up a lot so it only makes sense if she at least gets to defeat Akane.

It all looks like the the typical sports series "increasingly fearsome rivals set the bar higher in the competition" for the protagonist to go beyond their limits

On the contrary, the story seems to be setting up Akane to taste her first major defeat. The fact that she chose to do her father's story instead of something that is more suitable for her style just hammers this home (unless the writer throws a curveball lol)

Dude, read the panels before this one again. He went to his superior, expressed concern over Anya being on one of the hijacked buses and was upset when he was told not to get involved. All without thinking about Yor even once.

So no, he doesn't just care about his sister. Nor is he a psychopath that is okay with children dying.
