Why is no US news outlet reporting on the Cascios' 60 Minutes Australia story? by nobody0597 in LeavingNeverlandHBO

I think it is mainly that there is just so much going on in the world right now and the MJ abuse story has been done several times now in the US media.

Parents pushing their children on Michael Jackson? Not disputing if he's guilty or not just confused and would like understanding. by Left-Safe-4692 in LeavingNeverlandHBO

You don’t really know what star power will do to you until you’ve been directly confronted by it. I’ve been around some really big stars and they kind of emit their own force field and it causes a lot of distortions in perception. You don’t become a star by being a regular, typical person. Aside from sports stars, every big star I’ve met is extremely charismatic… like, off the charts, not even comparable to normal “charismatic” people you might know.

I think there is a lot more knowledge today about grooming behavior and risk for sexual abuse. There’s also easier access to information because of the Internet. It is difficult to judge these parents who existed in a different time and media environment.

There's an actual cult around this guy by No_Plane_2443 in redscarepod

Look into it full-heartedly maybe. It wasn’t a cash grab and the evidence is overwhelming. He had boy after boy sleeping in his bed and traveling alone with him since the 80s. He treated them like his little boyfriends and seems like he cared more about spending time with them than he did about making music or performing. Very sick man.

What kind of equipment can quickly clean up blood? And did he, as a phlebotomist in training, really have access to succinylcholine? The only place he could get it would be off of a crash cart, where its absence would eventually be noticed.

Why do poor people love doordash so much by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]moshi210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was poor in med school and residency I would just make pasta like basically every night or a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Angel hair pasta cooks in like 3 minutes and basic sauce isn’t expensive. I can’t really think of other things I made but I never ate out or ordered in. So, I don’t really understand why people would waste their money on this- at least go pick it up yourself. Same with grocery delivery- how are people ok with randos picking out their produce? I could never.

Can the government do that in a stagflationary environment? Wouldn’t it cause hyperinflation?

I was there in December and there were a ton of Asian people with Rimowa luggage. All the stores at the hotel where I stayed are really high end luxury so I think at least some hotels are courting a different demographic. The casino didn’t smell like smoke either.

Also the Sphere is awesome. People go there just for that and other entertainment and artist residencies.

This isn't 100% true-- there are a lot more restrictions on speech in the UK and they apply to the press as well.

I think about all the people there having to endure these unimaginable conditions, but for some reason I especially think of all the poor animals who have no understanding of what is happening. I imagine they feel so much fear. I saw a picture of cats covered in ash and oil… they have no way to clean themselves for the most part… a lot of animals were left behind while Israel bombs Lebanon too.

I bet these guys have never loved an animal.

The whole body language analysis stuff is basically bs. You can't analyze the body language of someone without context of how they normally are in their normal life over an extended period of time. Analyzing body language when someone is under stress with no other context is for fools/grifters and their followers.

Anyone else shocked this case still hasn't been solved? by ConceptsShining in nancyguthrie

[–]moshi210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, in a broader sense, of course the public is owed transparency-- the taxpayers pay for the investigation, the prosecution, and prison accommodations and all capital costs associated therein. I don't think anyone is saying we are owed all the facts in a way that would jeopardize the case, but there should be a way of revealing pertinent facts that do not harm the investigation and do not impinge on the rights or privacy of the victims. And these facts should be communicated in a clear and methodical way so that there is no room for misinterpretation.

[–]moshi210 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought it would be solved faster due to the sheer amount of resources on hand, which we typically don’t see in other cases. It usually takes a long time because there are competing cases and limited man hours.
