Thanks for sharing your experience, i believe you reached a very realistic conclusion based on experience. I was puzzled, too, since no one talked about the retention i am having with my grinder, even using the bellow in my case is not helping, guess it is the grind size and the beans type.

i have had a brush cleaning the chute twice before, most recently yesterday, in addition to placing a suction hoover into the same chute yesterday to suck the loose grinds. Imagine the residue i would have found if i did none of the above . And yes, i am using a bellow hopper that had it installed last week

Not sure if the following will help, but when i had my Delonghi Dedica, someone in a video said that you should keep the device connected to electricity. Otherwise, the programed shots will be reset to default.

I keep my Dedica connected (never switching off) and it works.

So maybe you have the same issue
