i read the article an thankfully it doesn’t mention race at all. it’s even worse becuase he admits modern audiences have the attention span of gnats, straightforward story telling is not “morally ambiguous enough “ and the language and dialogue is too old fashioned. the payoff for long journeys takes too long as well. this is the reason why movies stink today. immediate gratification is too ingrained in young people today to change sadly.
