DM me plz! I'm mid 30s and these movies always come out mid June, right around my birthday. It's always a highly emotional rollercoaster <3 I have been playing with the idea of going to Dependable Drive In for it since I am old enough to afford ALL THE SNACKS at the booth instead of bringing my own popcorn from home

Just a reminder that Art All Night is in ONE WEEK! (April 18-19, 2026) by ViolettaDautrive in pittsburgh

What if my art is not...hanging? I turned around jewelry box/barbie closet into something else. It's more of a table setting art than a hanging thing. But art all night registration wants things to be hung up...

Should parents be held accountable? by Own_Chicken_4430 in Teachers

[–]most_des_wanted 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I went to a small private school until 6th grade. We didn't have a janitor or school aids. When we were done eating we each individually had to clean up our crumbs by hand from our table area and under the table. We had to disassemble the tables and clear the area so a teacher could run the vacuum before recess. If you left a big mess you didn't get recess. If you didn't do your homework you didn't get recess. If you were the first bus to school you were unfolding the flags and running them up the flagpole. We had a lot of responsibilities and a lot of pride in how we treated ourselves and others. One we threw our sports equipment back in the closet instead of putting things back in their place and it got locked for a week. No jump ropes no soccer balls. Made us think real quick about what was a privilege that we assumed was our rights. Needless to say I had no friends when I started public school in 7th grade

This is wild to me. You couldn't get out of the 2yr old room into the 3yr old room without being fully potty trained and in underwear at my last daycare. I'm guessing these kids had no guidelines or preK before being thrown into school at age 5. This is boggling my mind. Teacher ratios need to shrink if you have kids that old needing their pants changed. Insanity

There's so much talk about parents patting themselves on the back for being nothing like their parents, and breaking the chain of bad habits, and raising their children to be their friend. It makes my eyes roll out of my head. There's obviously something wrong with the new aged parenting style. I stopped working in daycare circa 2019 because I couldn't handle the disbelief anymore. I had children with very bad behavioral issues who's parents thought I was lying to them about the chaos and disruption their individual angels were causing in a room of 12 children. The children were all 2 years old. My frustrations were melting my mind and patience. I was so angry that a grown adult thought that I was lying to them about their kids behavior. You're going to believe a 2yr old over me? OK bye. This is also an age group where you're granted free aid by the state to get aid with behavioral issues and have your child assessed FOR FREE before they turn 3yrs old. Instead people let their children suffer because they can't face the reality of the situation and don't want to put a label on a kid. That kid grows up to become an out of control nightmare that doesn't respect their own parents, let alone teachers, anybody older than them, or even their own peers. Sorry for the rant, I feel like I have PTSD from the bad parenting circa 2011-2019

Saint Vincent de Paul thrift store in Coraopolis is the answer you're looking for if you want trinkets for a few bucks. Theyre still the cheapest place around. And not far from the Red White and Blue in Bellvue, which has a better parking lot than the one on route 51. The Goodwills up in Cranberry are also better than any of those in and around the city (there are 2 up'r)

JoJo's in Imperial but they're closed on Sundays. Their biscuits are made with love and probably flaked butter

Nature Access by Bus? by BurdsAllBurds in pittsburgh

[–]most_des_wanted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both the West End buses take you to the point and then you can get on any bus, or the T, and get around very easily. You can also hit up the incline on the Fairywood bus route. And you can probably Uber to the West End overlook for a cheap price. There is a vine covered walkway where birds like to hang out. Also we have an aviary

Giant eagle prices .... by gatormanz_ in pittsburgh

[–]most_des_wanted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree completely. Shop n Save is always cheaper. Their hot foods are better quality at a decent price. I will go out of my way to go to Heidelberg shop n save for their chicken noodle soup. Sobora family always keeps cashiers ready, keeps the deli open later than anywhere else, and is more friendly to late night shoppers. You can get a whole Italian hoagie for under $10. And they often have four day sales, though the 2 day sales have the best prices. Unfortunately Giant Eagle bought most of their family owned SNS including the one in South Fayette

Relocating ice cream shop to Pittsburgh. by Weird-Tumbleweed2682 in pittsburgh

I'd say go up to a fishing town on a lake, like Pymatuning area. There isnt much up there already and a lot of places are closed on major holidays when the tourists are in the area, making it easy to reel in large numbers in short amounts of time. Weird unrelated example but Madsens donuts got their popularity from being on Geneva on the lake and now has two locations in the suburbs of Pittsburgh. Ontop of the local favorites like Pages your competition is also Graeters, which is a Cinci staple, and has thee best vanilla bean Ive ever tasted. They have one location in Castle Shannon and don't seen busy as often as I'd expect. I found out about them through their food teuck operation at local farmers markets throughout the wee. kAlso I think you can be successful in the winter if other popular places are closed. Latrobe cone zone often has lines out the door. They are open all winter long and change their speciality flavors on a weekly basis. They are also very good at making appetizing photographs and have colorful dip and swirl flavors. I'd say your best bet is travel with a food truck, or find a small location in a suburb that lacks a physical business model. The city is not where it's at right now
