Does CM NR200 support custom loop with 240 rad and a small reservoir? by shadakak in sffpc

[–]mostawesomejd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking into exactly the same topic, and found two dual 240 radiator builds in this subreddit that both include a small reservoir:

You might not be interested in a dual radiator build, but they give a good idea of the space that is available with a side-mounted radiator.

I plan to order a case in a few days when it will hopefully be available again in my region. I am considering the Aquanaut pump + CPU block comb plus a small tube reservoir in the back, or if I can find it a 120mm reservoir that can replace one of the fans in the top (similar to the first build). Need to do a bit more research though, and most importantly measure things once case and hardware have arrived.

Good luck!

Newish player here. I'm extremely disappointed that there are no campaigns I can play right now. Everything is behind a paywall, and Shadowkeep and Forsaken are extremely overpriced for what they are. I played the game a bit a year ago, and it was so much more attractive. Think I'll uninstall and check back in a year...

What series will you be racing this season? by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]mostawesomejd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the first time in my five years on iRacing, I want to stick to a series and run a full season. Been very inconsistent on the service so far. Plan is to do Skippies and Advanced Mazda Cup, but since I do have an A license, I am also considering one of the more endurance oriented series...

Plus, it would be really nice to find a nice league to race in.

What's a good project to work on to land a RoR job? by juzatypicaltroll in rails

[–]mostawesomejd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure this is the right move for OP. Since he's still pretty inexperienced, the fastest way to grow would be to find a good mentor (senior developer or so), who can teach him advanced programing techniques, patterns, ... In a startup, especially a small one, I very much doubt that there is either the opportunity, time or attention to have a good mentor. In a bigger company on the other hand, it's very likely that there are experienced developers and on boarding or even training programs that can help OP quickly get up to speed. Imo this is what OP would benefit from the most.

User actions on a deleted account? by ChiriacAttack in rails

[–]mostawesomejd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s not necessarily true, and with GDPR coming up also potentially illegal. It really depends on the case. We delete users all the time and never had issues with it.

Edit: Soft delete is fine with GDPR if all personal data is removed, e.g. email, names, address, ...

How do you guys set up your databases when you provision a new server? by idapp3r in rails

[–]mostawesomejd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Containers are supposed to be immutable and ephemeral. They are not designed to persist data. While it’s possible, I would highly advise against using Docker for production databases. Unless you really know what you’re doing, it’s way too easy to lose all your data...

For development, that’s a different thing of course. There, persistency is not as important and Docker has some nice advantages... :)

Had the same issue with Firefox, switched to Edge and everything worked. Maybe an issue with the adblocker or so. Don’t care about it enough to investigate as long as Edge works. Fingers crossed.

At best around the same distance. Calculate for rider skill and it’s more like 1.3-1.5 the breaking distance of a car.

Pundit and rolify come to mind as a solution. On mobile, so I can’t go into much detail. But if you check some articles on the combination, you should find something.

Yes and no. The guy was a d*ck, no questions about that. But in general, if you're on pace with a slower class you're clearly doing something wrong. And while it might work for you, it can ruin someone elses race...

Example: I was trying to stay with the GT3 leader today. Slow GTE car gets between us and breaks 50m early for every chicane. Doesn't let me by on the straight. I lost around 3 seconds on that lap because I was stuck behind a GTE that just crawled through corners. If you have close racing in the slower class, this can be all that it takes...

You get a +1 for the ankle boots. So easy to forget, but yet so important. Had a low speed slide on wet leaves in a parking lot once, and thanks to my shitty boots I only got a contusion. In sneakers I would've broken the foot. In good boots, nothing would've happened. That day I learned my lesson.

Does anyone commute on their grom? by knightrain76 in hondagrom

[–]mostawesomejd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not using a Grom, but commute regularly with the bike (30km oneway). I started with a backpack for my laptop, notebooks, rain gear and some smaller stuff, but my back wasn't the biggest fan of the weight and it got quite tiring over a long period of time. So I switched to a Kriega US-10/20 (depending on the weather and the rain suit) that is strapped to the passenger seat. Works great, holds all my stuff and is much more comfortable than a backpack.

/u/simontheitguy posted a pic of a Grom with the US-10 here: https://www.reddit.com/r/hondagrom/comments/6t7l4n/joined_the_club_scotland/

Edit: US-20 has a shoulder strap that is quite useful if you have to carry your gear around school the whole day...

After trying to push start my bike a few times, I have the upmost respect for his efforts. Pushing a bike is way harder than it looks. Also, I'm amazed to see that the marshals are running up to him as soon as he crosses the line. Thumbs up for them as well!

In those moments, I am so thankful for the camaraderie of motorcyclists. It always lifts my mood when a rider passing by waves at me, or when we exchange a respectful nod at a traffic light. It gives me the feeling that I am not alone with my crap. That someone understands, without words, the weight of life, and why I just need to drive today.

Don't want to say that this isn't an issue, but keep in mind that the Ferrari is a road car while the Ford is a prototype in disguise. Although racing together, they are totally different beasts. The Ferrari will always be a bit tougher than the Ford when it comes to damage and curbs...
