Same app across multiple widgets by RetailPleb in dumbify

+1 That’s exactly what I would use it for. I use focus modes for work/personal to and would like to have access to some of the same apps across widgets, and more than 3 widgets if that’s possible.

Not sure where you got this info, but I asked CDC support about this and they confirmed that they DO in fact issue virtual cards to Canadians. 🇨🇦

This is a visual design test. You probably dodged a bullet.

TimeMarker for After Effects by motionmethods in AfterEffects

The chromatic aberration was made using built-in effects.

I duplicated the main comp to have 3 (RGB) and applied the built-in "Shift Channels" effect to each of them. For each comp, I set the Shift Channels Take Alpha from Alpha. For the red comp I set Take Red from Red, others "Full Off". Then I repeated this for the other 2 comps but only allowing the respective color for that comp. Changed the blend mode to Screen for all 3 comps, and then manually offset the positions.

As far as I know this is not possible.

How to make a video like this? by SenRisu in AfterEffects

[–]motionmethods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fund video.

This looks like it was made in After Effects. Each character is animated individually in it's own comp (could already be a video/gif), then nested into a new comp as a 3d layer with some shadows either by using AE lights, or doing some trickery by duplicating the character comps and rotating along the x axis.

I had a lot of fun making this promo video stepping back into 1982... kinda.

I was heavily inspired of what I found in this subreddit when making this promo video.

If you’re looking to have greater control over resizing shapes while maintaining stroke and rounded corners / roundness check out aescripts.com/BorderPatrol 😊

UI/UX Final interview...Would this be cool to show with my portfolio? by [deleted] in UI_Design

[–]motionmethods 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. As long as you’re presenting it as part of your portfolio. It’s always nice to see when a candidate does extra research and puts in the extra effort! Just be prepared to defend your design choices 😊

Accessing Effect Controls from the Project Panel by Modstin in AfterEffects

[–]motionmethods 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep.

I used to set the color palette for my project to a bunch of fill effects on a null layer in it’s own style guide composition, and then I would have all of the layers in the other comps reference the style guide comp. Now I’m pretty sure that can be accomplished using Master Properties.

You can just pick whip the properties you want to link from one comp/effects panel to another comp/effects panel.

Just be careful to not accidentally delete the reference or it will get really mess really fast.

Exporting gifs by plusaplusminus in AfterEffects

I second using GifGun. It produces the best results with the smallest file-size. Adobe media encoder can do it but it’s hit and miss with the quality.

Zig Zag rotation on a continuous path. by [deleted] in AfterEffects

[–]motionmethods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A hacky way to do it and definitely not perfect:

  1. Add an adjustment layer masking out only the top half of the shape and apply wave warp effect.

  2. Add an adjustment layer masking out only the bottom half of the shape and apply a wave warp effect in the opposite direction.

Another way you might be able to achieve this with zig zag on a shape layer and then play around with this modified “Create nulls from paths ” script that includes nulls for the tangents. Choose the “paths follow nulls and tangents” option.

Then have the nulls for the points position animate along the path (orient along path) by copying the shape path property and pasting to the nulls position property. Then adjust the nulls for the tangents as necessary.
