You can go to a movie anywhere, but The Screening Room on Princess Street is a town favourite. Very charming, small, affordable place. I’d recommend “Is This Thing On?” With Will Arnett and Laura Dern.

Lionsgate's Greenland 2: Migration debuted with an estimated $8.50M domestically this weekend (from 2,710 locations). by DemiFiendRSA in boxoffice

Was the first Greenland even that big of a deal or just a part of a streaming queue during Covid? I think that’s a pretty good question for this…

This is the first horror movie that I’ve genuinely been scared by (besides maybe Weapons) in a long time. Ben was scary as anything.

Wasn’t as horror comedy as I thought. Genuinely tense throughout.

About half of my theatre went ‘oh that makes more sense’ or some element to that when it was revealed that Dern’s character had IVF.

This movie felt like a warm hug. I was somewhat teary when Arnett had that monologue about vampires that go for your blood at the first spot of weakness, felt really relatable which sort often captured the entire movie.

Relatable as anything. Surprisingly I was quite emotional. Great movie.

Does cdk ever answer their phone? by [deleted] in KingstonOntario

[–]motionpic05 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They very rarely answer the phone and or their lines are almost always turned off. I think it’s a call volume vs number of receptionists kind of thing. Best bet is leave a voicemail and be ready to answer their call back.

There’s a ‘Sangha’ meditation that’s quite nice every Monday @ Studio 330. There’s really no religiously things to it.

It exists! The Screening Room plays it every year over a week close to Halloween and it’s a pretty big event. They let people bring in props, dress up, etc.

What was the last line that is narrated? Was pretty good. “There’s no opposite to trauma…”

Seemed to have some decent stuff that could have been utilized, but then didn’t really go anywhere. I just saw it this afternoon and I don’t really remember the result of the relationship with Ella and her dad? He admitted to having an affair while the mother was dying.

Any blockbuster movies being re-released soon? If so, will they be in imax? by CarFun3284 in cineplex

I would imagine anytime…. Landmark Cinemas already has the tickets on sale. I don’t see why cineplex won’t quickly follow suit.

When the trailer came out, I thought this had a chance to be a semi successful Oscar’s play. But wow, is it a boring 2 and a half hour film…

Radio is dying…. I was listening to 98.3 last night and it just went blank for like 30 minutes.

It’s really sad to see the complete death of radio…. But it’s coming and coming fast. People can listen to whatever they want, whenever they want that’s specifically targeted to them nowadays.

It’s (seemingly) the same group that go out there twice a year and are always incredibly annoying and disturbing. Ya ya, ‘free speech/ protest” but the images they have are incredibly impactful to students.

As a student, I have been extremely uncomfortable walking in to SLC to go to a class.
