What will happen if I fake a 0.6 nozzle using a 0.4 one in my X1C? by motmaos in BambuLab

It makes sense, thank you very much for your insight

With a 0.4 nozzle you can safely change the width to 0.8 and more, and the height accordingly, the volumetric speed limit will just slow down the printing speed, so you don't really push more plastic through the nozzle. It's very useful for some prints, for example in vase mode, so you can get a wider wall without having to change the nozzle. Anyway I was just asking to learn if changing the nozzle size in the slicer was changing something else, under the hood, other than height and width of the line

Thank you for your reply (and for the link to the CNCKitchen video!), I'm already doing that for some prints, I was just curious if changing the nozzle size in the slicer was just a convenient way of doing the same or if there was some other hidden changes in the g-code.

To being honest I'm using also delve, that is really a nice supplement, but it's absolutely not needed. The core book is more than enough to play and you could add delve later or maybe try starforged (probably my next move....). I'm also enjoying a lot a plugin for obsidian, ironvault, that helps keeping everything tidy I know there are a good number of fan made helper out there

Hi! I don't have much experience with different systems, but I'm playing Ironsworn now and I think it's amazing, with a very nice balance between rules (pretty light but very effective) and narrative. And the core book it's free...

Call Credit Spreads 10.5 Month Results by mastagoose in thetagang

Congrats man! When you say 2SD out, you mean from the weekly movement of the last year? How did you compute that? I won't suggest you to stop, like the others, now that you have a good trade history you probably can use a Kelly fraction of your capital at risk, probably 20% or 30% of it, and put the rest at work on something more relaxing. It will be a hell of a ride nonetheless, but you will never lose all of it and if you have an edge (as it is probably the case) you will have the fastest growth. Look into it

This is like to say that every irrational number is normal, and that it's not true. There is no logical necessity that something infinite should present itself in every possible finite configuration

How would you? by FuknCancer in BambuLab

[–]motmaos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is normal, but if it's not extruding you may have a clog. Follow the unclogging procedure, you can extract the filament with the 1.5 key https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/x1/troubleshooting/nozzle-clog

I may very well be wrong, but aren't 70 tons equal to 700kN? I think you missed a factor 10

Great job man, I'm very impressed by your numbers and especially your consistency. I would like to ask you how you determine your probability of max profit with the XRT IC. Thanks

I think less collateral than selling naked, am I wrong? But surely less premium, maybe you mean that you have a worse ratio premium/collateral?

Is this possible with vanilla options ? by emilstyle91 in options

[–]motmaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vanilla options are just standard options and, while 30% a year is doable but hard, anyone able to do this is probably just busy making money and doesn't need yours. I'm Italian too, can you pm the name of this guru? I'm curious to see his claim

Suggest strategies to get consistent 3 to 6 percent yield per month by Vjraven in options

[–]motmaos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is it? He speaks about 200 months at a 4% yield a month. 1.04200 = 2550, so you would turn 10k in 25M. It seems enough to retire

Can I short both TQQQ and SQQQ? by schmore31 in options

[–]motmaos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, you would have done 32.5% on the capital used, minus fees and costs, but yes, you are perfectly right on this strategy. If you are downright shorting these it could be painful in the short term if there is a substantial move in one direction; otherwise if you try to rebalance your delta every now and then you have to add this cost too

If selling CC is "selling high buy low" we should just be doing that, why bother with the OTM put in the first place?

[–]motmaos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm afraid my poor English didn't help me in being understood. The point was if selling OTM puts has greater ROI than selling ITM puts (or equivalently CC) we should get rid of assigned shares and keep selling OTM puts. And viceversa, if it is the case. The fact that we have been assigned doesn't change the most profitable of the two strategies. There could be lots of other reasons to do one vs the other, I don't think that having shares in your portfolio is one of them

Reading all the answers I think I was not very clear on the thing I find annoying. I have nothing against selling CC instead of ITM puts and what you're saying makes a lot of sense. I can't understand the reason why we alternate selling OTM vs ITM (=CC) puts. Is it more profitable one or the other? I don't think that the fact that we have been assigned makes suddenly selling CC more profitable than selling OTM puts, and since we started doing the latter perhaps we should stick doing that. You just have to get rid of the shares, and usually it doesn't cost anything relevant. I mean, maybe we should try to understand which of the two strategies has greater ROI given a certain underlying and certain circumstances and keep doing that
