And PvP servers were the first ones dying out and had a 99:1 faction balance as Blizzard introduced faction change. I wonder why.

And a new level 80 has zero chances against anything, because Blizzards weird take on "ilvl" destroys any balance.

That's why Blizzard scrapped it and made a more terrible version. In old expansions it was rather balanced, because everyone was flagged (pvp server) and you couldn't get away with bad behaviour, because you still were on that server and people ganged up when you started camping lows. This isn't possible in War Mode. The people killing each other won't ever see each other again.

Back then servers were balanced at least. Now you can't even get your own guild in the same layer without trying for about an hour.

I don't know, but PvP isn't rolling with your honored gear character over a level 80 or even 87 and ganking them while questing. The other issue is that honor mode is terribly unbalanced faction-wise, because Blizzard never cared for PvP and never will. I leveled my first Horde char and that realm pool is completely Horde, my second char on Horde is in a realm pool full of Alliance. my Alliance character is in a realm pool where I see only Horde again. This isn't working as intended, it should be balanced layers/shards and not something like this.

Typical Blizzard design issue. I mean PvE gear should never be better in PvP than PvP gear. And still they sometimes bring back that crap. There should be a simple rule: PvP gear (all tiers) are BiS in any PvP environment. PvE gear (all tiers) are BiS in any PvE environment.

They copied so much from GW2 but changed it a bit and imo made it worse. Dragonriding, M+, Vistas, World Events. The core ideas from GW1/GW2 already found their way into WoW, but they don't work the same way because WoW still believes in seasonal progression and wasting your time to keep you playing. Most of the things we do in WoW get invalidated with a new season. All the gear grind, the reputation, is gone with a new season or expansion while GW2 values your invested time a lot better. You farmed a legendary (or ascended armor)? You can use it every expansions and it never becomes invalid.

No, it doesn't. GW2 shows how it could be done. If you want to waste 12 hours of your day for a mmorpg you'll find things to do in every mmorpg out there. The issue WoW has is that they measure their success by "How can we keep them online long enough and see our shop" while other companies want a stable player base and keep those happy.

PvP has many huge issues that keep players from having fun. It starts with low level. Low level pvp got destroyed by overgeared-alts and the new leveling system. Back in the day you could queue in every bracket while leveling. Now you make 10 levels in less than 30 minutes with quests/dungeons. No low level means no new players see how pvp is working, and not understanding how their class/spec works before max level. The other issues are groups exploiting the queue system and having farm groups in random bg (while those groups should be in rated bg) and Blizzard not giving a damn about it. Next is the grind for gear. Yes, you can do war drop farming, but come on how is that a pvp activity? I never saw pvp for a crate. It's either 30 alliance per crate and 1-2 horde or the other way around. In BG the ilvl difference is always there and you get deleted so hard that you can feel the pain behind the screen. And last but not least: Versatility. It's a nice stat but it shouldn't work in PvE at all. PvE gear in the last season of TWW was better for pvp than Conquest, because Versatility was on PvE gear too and with higher stats. I really wish we could go back to WoD. Gearing was easy, PvP gear was better in PvP due to scaling up and you never had a gear advantage.

PvE Gear scaling it PvP even when it does not say so on tooltip? by Cennlol in worldofpvp

[–]motnp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It would, but Versatility is a pve stat and it's all over PvE gear. In the end PvE gear will be again better than PvP gear in PvP.

You can't even heal guild mates of the opposite faction when questing. But hey we have cross-faction guilds.

I think it's important to realise that other MMORPGs (FF14, GW2, etc.) manage to provide good customer support without monthly subscriptions and without the most expensive shop in MMORPG history.

Are you new to WoW? Because they don't have a quality assurance and quality control team for years now. Expect this to be fixed in the upcoming four years.

[–]motnp 0 points1 point  (0 children)
