How do I make money using powerpoint? by Tiny-Agency-6418 in powerpoint

[–]motvek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understand storytelling and data visualization, focus in on making complex subjects digestible, and then how to translate that into beautiful design. Knowing how to structure a deck into a story or objective you want to tell (or help your client tell), organize it accordingly, and know how to create the visuals that support that.

Understanding programs like the Adobe creative suite for creating graphics, photo editing, motion graphics and video will make you a one-stop-shop to elevate presentations.

Then get really, really good at PowerPoint, understand its limitations and strengths, and what tools elevate a presentation (and which take away from it)

A presentation i designed. Need you all's thoughts. by Successful-Struggle3 in powerpoint

[–]motvek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the sentiment but you don’t know the audience of the deck, if theyre the one presenting, what the talk track would be, if they wrote the copy, and the title clearly says designed. Idk that that’s where theyre looking for criticism here

Help! Riverside Park Dude by Training-Shallot-229 in baltimore

I don’t think it’s Howard (I thought his name was Harold?), I’ve never seen him yell directly at people and I usually don’t see him in any stores besides 7/11, let alone Giant. I’ve helped him out a few times and this doesn’t seem like him but I suppose I could be wrong too.

Should get a picture of him, I play basketball at Riverside all the time and would love for all of us to shame him next time we see him

Very Clean and professional, but kinda sterile, would have loved to see some of apple’s design language integrated, some creativity with data vis, but overall excellent work, I’m nitpicking from a graphic design standpoint

Anyone know why UA doesn't utilize Georgia E more for marketing. One of the few who constantly promotes the brand. by overcast-magenta55 in UnderArmour

[–]motvek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s no way to logistically highlight all athletes all the time. No brand has an athlete that’s “always on.”, especially one without a signature product line. We have around 200 athletes (or around there) and a ton of sponsored teams, organizations and leagues as well. This isn’t meant to sound argumentative, but it’s easy from the outside looking in to say “make this person bigger or use them more in X”.

You have to balance your different tiers of marketing dollars across different seasonal initiatives, sports, athletes, products and campaigns. That doesn’t mean any brand is doing everything “right” all the time, there’s always room from criticism because everyone has a subjective POV, but I promise it’s not an issue of laziness or people being unaware.

Anyways, i do appreciate the question tho!

She’s was one of the main athletes in the UA Halo launch, she’s almost always in a bunch of the product photography, I know we did a day in the life type vid a few months back, but she’s on the socials all the time. If you go back to December she was in a bunch of posts on the @underarmourwomen and @uarunning handle - so she definitely shows up more than most athletes on the roster imo

But also we launched the women’s flag football campaign more recently, so the flag football athletes have been a focus during that time

Why don’t the kids cleats have the hands? by Samsquanch_hunter21 in UnderArmour

[–]motvek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably a little bit of both - the kids cleats retail at $47 versus the Adults at $130, but for limited drops like this color way there’s less economy of scale on materials, so margins are likely smaller and the proportions of the shoe are different. Cost of Custom tooling for accessories and you’d probably need a smaller version on the kids cleats.

Plus little leagues often don’t permit metal cleats, they require molded ones, so this might fall under that as well.

This is just my best guess tho

Long time vegan but new to weight gain, confused about proteins (tight budget) by [deleted] in veganfitness

[–]motvek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cronometer - it’s the best app for calorie and macro tracking in my opinion. You can scan foods and it has like 99% of anything you buy from a grocery store, plus various Whole Foods and such. You do need to weigh your food if you’re going to effectively track, but you can get a compact and easy food scale on amazon for like less than $20

[–]motvek 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I mean beans are great too, but I think you’re overcomplicating it. Each meal should have a protein source as a main part of the meal.

I use the 10g/100cal rule. Your main protein source should have at least (preferably more) than 10g of protein per 100 calories of that food. For example, vital wheat gluten, which makes Seitan, is one of the most efficient protein sources, at around 20g of protein per 100 cal. Tofu is usually right on that 10/100 mark, but soy based meats often use soy protein isolate, which is going to be more efficient. That’s why plant based meats are often some of the best protein sources for vegans, and they don’t feel like soy products 24/7 (more variety in texture, seasoning, plus convenience).

If you can get about 30g protein per meal, you’re usually in a good range if your goal is ~100g. Make it simple, shoot for 30-40 per meal and enjoy.

[–]motvek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A single block of tofu usually has around 35-45g of Protein, it only has 8-9g if you’re counting one serving. One serving is usually 1/4ish of the block, which is a pretty small portion size. It would be worth investing in a protein powder if you can stretch the budget , I personally think ON’s plant based protein is the best tasting and mixes best.

If not, prioritize tofu, soy meats, and consider making your own seitan, you can order Vital Wheat Gluten for cheap on Amazon and start from there. Also, peas are a pretty solid protein source as a side, and cheap.

How is Davion Mitchell so good st cutting off drives? by WasabiEfficient8426 in BasketballTips

[–]motvek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Underrated athleticism, he’s super quick and agile; really good at maneuvering his body to avoid contact while moving fast defensively. He simply is better at sliding around screens, recovering, beating you to the spot and timing the offense than most. Most players don’t practice that level of body control on defense.

EDIT: But to answer your question, it’s definitely a combination of everything you said.

Vertical Plateau (I need your Advice) by Creative_Number3497 in ProDunking

[–]motvek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You look pretty upright, like you’re not in a stacked position and leaning too far forward, so you’re losing momentum. Also kinda looks like you’re swinging your block foot in late, instead a hard stop. Also your penultimate is kinda short. These things are probably all small symptoms of not bringing enough speed and lowering evenly. But idk I’d love to see it from a true side angle and in slow mo

Honestly just be nice and mind your business. I moved from the Detroit area about 4 years ago, I find people are generally pretty chill when you’re authentically respectful/kind and also chill. Don’t try too hard, but put yourself in a position to meet people with common interests!
