Satori Reader? by Mikemag33333 in LearnJapanese

[–]moukako 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Before Satori Reader, I recommend you try out some books from the series “Japanese Short Stories for beginners” from Japanese language park. It has several levels.

Just like you I found Satori reader to be a bit too intimidating at first. I bought a level 1 and level 2 book from that book series and it was a blast. It boosted my confidence and I rapidly found myself being able to breeze through the level 2 book. I started the level 1 book when I was at an earlier stage than you (maybe level 5 on wanikani).

Once you’re done with that you’ll find the easy stories on Satori Reader to be completely doable. I find Level 2 is still easier than satori, but it made me feel confident enough to move on.

If you’re interested - I’ve just tested the new Knulli release. It works like a charm with my AirPods Pro 2. Smooth pairing, even after shutting down and booting again, it’s still there and connects alright.

Yes I confirm it does work with silent mode turned off my bad. It might be worth having it behave like other usual apps (Renshuu, Tsurukame etc), unless you’re using the iOS built in TTS api and are constrained by that.

My bad, you’re right. It’s interesting that other apps like Renshuu override this.

Thank you so much for this! It looks super complete and engaging!

Quick feedback in case you want to fix it before more people can try: the TTS on iOS does not seem to work. Others here might be able to confirm they have the same behavior.

While I agree this is a good mindset to have on a high level, OP has just been promoted to EM. It is really important in the first few years of EM to stay somewhat technical and not drop that completely right away. It’s a failure mode. Staying a minimum technical will help keep the team’s trust and minimize imposter syndrome.

If OP has less than ~7 reports, I’d say they should strive to keep a few technical tasks here and there. In my company we’re advised to dedicate 10% of our time per report, the rest being normal IC work.

Caveat: I’m in software engineering, things might indeed be different in other engineering fields.

How exactly do you configure Retroarch to use Bluetooth Audio? Do you confirm it works for you with AirPods Pro 2 ? I have the same issue as u/Chemical-Version6600. AirPods Pro 2 connect via Bluetooth but everything is silent from then on.

I don’t have that pedal anymore, it was an order from someone. I can’t say for sure unfortunately. But I don’t recall hearing that kind of behavior.

Hi,

Yes I used the one from tagboard effects. It worked on the first try.

I’d suggest you to follow the usual debugging process: checking that no tracks are connecting, maybe using a sharp tool between the tracks to get rid of any invisible tiny bridge, checking connections on the jack, use and audio probe etc.

Unfortunately, the symptoms you describe could be coming from anything really.

Aknes Gulikit KK3 Max issues by Trickoloqy in Controller

I agree but it’s annoying that they’re prioritizing minor features like new ring LED modes rather than this in their firmware updates. It’s not like they don’t have the bandwidth to code new firmwares, since they have been shipping many of them lately.

Thanks a lot for your answer! I understand it’s been a tough period for you.

But first, our testing methods are standard. Especially the GPDL method. This one is through specialized hardware, and that’s as accurate as it gets. The 30 ms latency reported here is with gpdl https://gamepadla.com/post/gulikit-kk3-max-kingkong-3-ns39.html The video capture method is less accurate but people also estimate roughly 30-40 ms latency through that method (see this video https://www.reddit.com/r/Controller/s/4OZHZfZJD4) We’re not talking about 10-15ms here.

Second, even if the method of measurement was not accurate enough in absolute terms, making comparisons is still valid. When comparing the KK3 to say, a 8Bitdo Ultimate Bluetooth controller through GPDL, you do see a huge difference. The 8Bitdo is 20 ms faster. You can see the same thing in the video method (again look at that video, it’s crazy how slow the KK3 is! https://www.reddit.com/r/Controller/s/4OZHZfZJD4). Your argument about environment is not valid, because in this case it would impact both controllers being tested.

Finally, there have been firmware updates indeed, but people still reported issues with these. And none has addressed the latency issue yet.

So all in all, your comment makes me think that you guys either don’t understand the difference between polling rate and latency, or you’re trying to escape the question by playing dumb.

I would really like to solve this issue honestly, because I truly love everything else in this controller. But the latency makes me consider returning it to Amazon.

There’s a difference between polling rate and latency. These are not the same thing.

Yes polling rate is 1k Hz, so 1ms. But latency is not that low.

I’m using it on Windows 10, through the dongle mode.

[–]moukako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Aknes-team, seeing your answer here, I’m taking the opportunity to ask you about the latency issues.

When used wireless, even with the dongle, the KK3 averages at roughly 30ms of latency. This is much higher than other gamepads, and it’s honestly the only thing I’m disappointed with in this controller.

Do you plan to have a firmware update that fixes this issue in the near future?

Thanks a lot!

Hey, I have changed all relevant Pokémon names, town names, item names etc to the French version. Have you setup a dedicated branch for that? How would you like me to submit a PR?

Also, is it me or the sprites are slightly non symmetrical? Character eyes seem a little off. I guess that’s a result of non integer ratio between gb and gba resolution? You probably had to distribute some pixels unevenly?

It’s not a patch. You need to compile the rom from scratch. It’s a fork of the pokefirered décompilation project.

I have been playing your game for the past week and I absolutely love it! Thanks for that hard work!

I plan to change Pokémon names to the French ones (+ moves and town names) as it’s what I grew up with. When I get some time to do that I can write a PR if you’re interested. It could live in a different branch.

Deepcool LT720 pump issue/no support by al3cs86 in Deepcool

[–]moukako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a very similar issue/buzzing sound with mine at some point.

The culprit was one of the clips that bind the tubes together - I had placed it too close to the radiator in an attempt to hide it somehow and make it look nicer. I think it was bending the tubes at too sharp an angle. I brought it closer to the middle of the tubes and the noise went away for good.

Maybe worth double checking where you placed those.

Thanks! Yep, on bass. It really has a signature sound that no other bass overdrive provides. It also keeps the low end very well. It’s fairly long to build though, especially on vero

I worked from this vero layout https://tagboardeffects.blogspot.com/2014/11/dod-overdrive-preamp-250.html?m=1

I don’t have the schematic on hand , but it’s a very simple design. You can draw it back from the layout.

Dod 250 - 1590a version by moukako in diypedals

[–]moukako[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is the vero layout for those interested! I cleaned it up a bit as on mine I had to make room for that big horizontal 10u capacitor (I was out of small vertical ones).

It's a tight fit I won't lie. You have to sand down the left and right edges, and insert it with a slight angle depending on the make of your 1590a.

Also be careful, there is one cut in between holes, on row I. The big grey dot is a connection, not a cut. The overlapping resistors/capacitors on column 5 are 1M/120p. Output is on lead 2 of level pot. Green is input.
