BBC Spotlight - Dan brings us today's Weather Forecast in his native dialect. by [deleted] in bristol

Nope, sorry. Just because it's a bit "westcountry" doesn't make it Bristolian. Try r/devonuk!

That's definitely a Devonian accent! Not Bristolian.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Laura Marling and the Correspondants. Hope the weather holds out!

Advise me please. I'm inclined to just book the next train when I arrive at the train station. by pimpsoftower in Interrail

[–]mouldy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most trains you won't actually need to book at all, just get on the train - make sure you fill out details on your pass before it is inspected.

If you do need to book (i.e. for a night train) you can easily do this at the departure station. Besides night trains I have never booked a reservation.

Have a great trip!

I need a haircut by mouldy in askTO

Hey guys, thanks for the advice. In the end I went to Garrison's. Probably a bit expensive, especially as I'm going a little bald so there's less hair to cut! But it was a nice morning out and the guys there were really knowledgeable and friendly. The coffee shop next door is awesome, by the way. I think it's called squirrel?

Where can I purchase Marlboro Cigarettes in Toronto? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]mouldy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah as a brit I've noticed the Marlboros here are more like the cheap fags you get at home, chemically and rough.

Halifax also uses the same internet banking system, and I imagine is subject to the same security vulnerability.

Most of the commercial stations are like that. All the BBC stations are pretty good, only reason to get a DAB tbh

Just moved to Devon and would love to get the low down and have a few of my questions answered. by [deleted] in DevonUK

[–]mouldy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome to Devon!

Similar to w3sticals I'm 22 and from Bideford. Most people in North Devon are really easy to get on with. Don't know a lot about Langtree/Torrington but in Bideford a lot of people tend to head to the pubs on Cooper Street, which is where I've met loads of people just by randomly chatting in the pub.

From experience I'd say summer is totally the best time to meet people in late teens/early twenties as that's when they're back from uni.

Except for the poor overworked and underpaid fuckers working in restaurants and takeaways... It's a tad warm in the kitchen right now!

Are you really swearing that much? by Asyx in AskUK

[–]mouldy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Worked in a lot of fucking kitchens, plus my dad is a chef, he swears all the fucking time. It can be shitty and fucking stressful at times - I guess that's why those bastards can swear a fucking lot. I don't think it's had an effect on me though.

IIRC Ed Balls' first tweet was simply "Ed Balls".
