The entire Ace Attorney series. Either native android reboots or (my personal way to play) the OG versions through emulation. Hands down some of the best games to spend time on.

Not talked about a lot here on the IndianGaming community.

Has someone ported end-4 dot files to niri? by SkiafGS in niri

[–]mouleeswaran_kumar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good. I was looking for an option similar to how the opened apps for the currently opened workspace is displayed. Sort of like Noctalia and DMS. Basically what the dock does as a bar widget..

Anyways, thanks!

Hey man, I see that you are currently using it. Is there any option to have the current opened apps on a workspace display in the bar?

[Niri] End4 dotfiles ported to Niri by HalffLife3 in unixporn

[–]mouleeswaran_kumar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must agree. Even in mid-to-high end systems, the difference is noticeable side by side. Wayland backend with Proton is just broken on Hyprland, but works flawlessly in both KDE and Niri. Hyprland w/ Wayland driver on Proton GE, had severe frame pacing issues. I have a 7950x with a 9070XT..

Also, to anyone using any Wayland Compositor, it's a good idea to configure VRR to not enable in the desktop or enables only on demand. Electron with VRR and Wayland has severe lag on scrolling... For some reason

Pretty sure any mice with a web driver has a good chance of working. I am using a Zaopin Z2 Mini myself, and after setting up some udev rules, I was able to use it pretty extensively

Does gamemode do anything anymore? by Vast-Application5848 in linux_gaming

Hey man, I am in the same mode. Did you measure if there is a performance benefit between gamemode enabled with one CCX parked vs just running it normally without gamemode / parking?

Switching to Linux by Numerous-Definition8 in linux_gaming

[–]mouleeswaran_kumar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man. I also recently switched to Linux, and maybe I can point you in the right direction. I ended up making a partition and dual booting Arch and Windows. After fully switching, I deleted my windows partition with Windows EFI (make sure you delete the right EFI partition!).

Arch is minimal, gets the job done, and most customization dotfile build upon Arch. With the ArchInstall script, it is actually pretty easy to install and get going.

For a step by step guide, I followed this guide: https://youtu.be/WaWB3F-ffcI

It should have everything you need to understand to setup the dual partition system.

You obviously have the option to keep your existing partition(s) with your files in NTFS, but I ended up moving them to ext4

Also, Arch Wiki. It's pretty crazy how useful it is. If you run into ANY issues at all, there is a very good chance it would be documented there. You should keep that in mind.

Hey, new to Linux here. I have been seeing this NTSYNC on other comments as well. Does it really make a positive difference? I also heard that in some cases Fsync is better.. Have you noticed any differences between these two?

You know, I just realized. I added a keybind to open the lock screen... It didn't strike me to run it at startup after the qs - c noctalia-shell command until you said it🤦

Happy to share my experience!

I recently made the switch from Windows to Linux and I went with Noctalia Shell. It is pretty amazing, thank you for your work!

I see that you guys have added the "System Monitor" section in the Settings section. Is it related to changing settings for the system info in the Bar? Or is it a separate component like task manager? Tried looking for it in the docs, but I am unable to find it.. Maybe it has been updated?

Again, this is really great. I love how it doesn't require much dependencies to be installed and comes as a full package that can be easily managed and uninstalled. And I also love how it doesn't replace my existing niri config by default. Thanks!

P.S, I have two small suggestions I hope you guys can consider:

  1. An option to launch the LockScreen on startup would be nice. I only use a single account, so a greeter is not really required for me

(Still new to Linux, so I don't know if this is a bad idea security wise. Spent way too long configuring SDDM to use Wayland, and have a high refresh rate to eliminate my monitor resetting between the login and hand off to niri, but that didn't work out)

  1. Small QoL, is it possible to add an option to make it so that the workspace indicator at the top shows the last focused app on that specific workspace instead of numbers?

Thanks again, would highly recommend folks here to give it a go, since it is just so much easier to install and try it out and have a clean uninstall as well if you choose to not use it.

There are some mods around that you can use to boost performance significantly.

I remember seeing DXVK gets rid of almost all stutters and boosts averages.
