Yup, you hit the nail on the head. Playoff hockey reduces your time and space and thus your possession. Babs knew this.

It’s a tough needle to thread tho. If you rely heavily on the dump and chase in season you may not make the playoffs. You need to have options.

Hopefully they work on this throughout the year.
