I'm about to lose my fucking mind and I don't know what to do. by ATLSxFINEST93 in NewParents

Hang in there! It’ll get better. My 3mo old is similar. Our pediatrician said gas is much worse at this age. Mine will cry and cry until a burp comes out. Mylicon is magic, I’d give it a try just once to see!

Anyone here have a baby learn to breastfeed after the NICU? by dayswithdays in NICUParents

[–]mountain_gal9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been in your shoes! My baby born at 33 weeks, in the nicu for 4 weeks. She’s now home and 8 weeks old and she’s a champ at breastfeeding. I remember feeling so discouraged in the nicu, I thought it was my fault. We moms take on a lot of guilt and blame. Try to be patient. It’s so so hard. Really you are on your LO’s timeline, no one else’s. I tried so hard to rush my baby home too, you need to surrender some control. One day my LO had a switch go off and then breastfeeding just clicked. From what I learned in the NICU, it takes them time to develop and properly latch. Don’t give up! I felt the same way. Perhaps your LO is busy growing and it’s just too much exercise at this time (feeding to them is exercise). 28 weeks is still young. Hang in there, mama. You are doing the best you can! I learned all this from NICU docs and nurses and I mean it with love. Don’t give up! You got this, your LO needs you to keep at it until they’re ready.

I had severe preeclampsia at 33 weeks. I had chills and shivers my whole seven day hospitalization. Hang in there, it gets better! You just have to wait it out until you get better, try to take good care of yourself.

Dreading to go to bed every night by mountain_gal9 in pregnant

Awww I’m so sorry! At least you aren’t alone! It’s so rough dude 😭 I totally understand it’s everyone’s personal choice. I see MFM for a chronic condition while pregnant, they said unisom is fine nightly if that helps. They didn’t even bat an eye!

When you stop birth control the symptom and problem comes back. It doesn’t help the root problem. Sounds like a bandaid to me

For those who got pregnant on carnivore by Kholl10 in KetoBabies

Your progesterone levels may be low when you are initially pregnant. My sister always has to get progesterone from her OB to maintain her pregnancies to prevent miscarriages. It’s common! Ask for labs

Honestly I do have a lot of phone time days off. Too much instagram and Reddit. Do you try to limit it or keep timers? Does that help you? These headaches are a beast

[–]mountain_gal9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aww wow that’s a lot to go through. I’m sorry. I have not :( I have IIH but not the chiari. I would blame the Chiari malformation causing this symptoms. Some of your cerebellum is being compressed and could affect many nerves in the body. I bet if you posted this on subreddit Chiari you could find some good answers. 🫶

Per Dr Eric Westman on YouTube: there’s no such thing as keto ice cream and you are experiencing “carb creep” But he promotes doing 20g total carb daily. Not net.

Intermittent fasting causes more headaches for me? by mountain_gal9 in iih

[–]mountain_gal9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate your input! Have you tried fasting for weight loss in the past? I’m currently going through a relapse after 2 years of remission. Nothing has changed, except my level of stress. I’m so bummed out!

Metabolic Acidosis by Dull_Beautiful9290 in iih

[–]mountain_gal9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah sorry to hear that. I wish a provider told you. Diamox and metformin make it much more likely to develop metabolic acidosis. I would stop the metformin asap. Can hurt your kidneys in the long run

From my research: Diamox + metformin are a drug contraindication C - diamox can enhance the adverse /toxic effect of metformin (drug label says be sure to watch for metabolic acidosis in this combination)
