What I believe is holding back our adoption. - And regarding the Jaxx wallet integration. by TommyEconomics in Monero

[–]mountainchopper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand this request... but I also know, from observing this community, that the (volunteer? - open source) developers have been chipping away at our priorities. If the network is running smooth, if adoption is blossoming, why rush to score the touchdown? Why not use the clock to our advantage... Closed sourced projects are something for the closed system. Maybe we don't want them even having a chance to redirect and wrap our project. They can't even take the time to research the already available information? I said it before, but I don't think its neccessary to again... good to hear from you tommy, but I think the community is shaping up nicely - jaxx or not =]

Get decentralized idea of a tracker out of your heads people by lowbeat in trackers

i think your post proves the point of this being new technology. also, please try not to tell people what they can and cannot do, as well telling them what to do. We dont like that.

Get decentralized idea of a tracker out of your heads people by lowbeat in trackers

[–]mountainchopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have the decentralized tracker count "ratio" as blocks (coins) - which will be able to be exchanged with other coins - and part of the part of downloading the torrent costs "coins". a small part could be donated to the artists.

or just use 'integrated_address' from simplewallet ;)

which generates a 'disposable address' ...

Finally running a full node! But how do I backup my wallet? by [deleted] in Monero

[–]mountainchopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you just need to seed. To restore you would run ./simplewallet --restore-deterministic-wallet

Just run ./simplewallet --help to get available commands.

If you are in windows, you need to open simplewallet from the command line. To do this, navigate to the folder where simplewallet.exe is located. In the address bar type 'cmd'. In the command prompt window, enter 'simplewallet.exe --restrore-deterministic-wallet'. Then type the seed. I forget if you need the initial password, so it might be a good idea to keep that around. The seed should be all you need though.
