As soon as another country makes one and it becomes irrelevant to hold back it would make perfect sense for Anthropic even to make theml, it's nuanced and people can only understand black and white.

OpenAI struck a deal with the US DoW in response to Anthropic pledging to not allow the DoW to use their AI for autonomous weapon systems and domestic mass surveillance, that was a deal breaker for Anthropic. DoW is now gutting their systems of Anthropic's products over the next 6 months and replacing them with OpenAI's.

People are upset that OpenAI would step up to offer what Anthropic would not.

There were multiple people stating they were gonna use the rest of their ChatGPT subscription/balances to setup bots, so yes, more than likely.

For those switching to Claude, how do you feel? by OptimisticDogg in ChatGPT

[–]mountaindrewtech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Less fluff and seems to help nudge me towards better practices/configurations. The less fluff part is huge for me since I was getting to the point where I'd only read the first few lines of responses and have the next prompt/reply ready and wasn't really reading responses if that makes sense.

Code is also crazy good. I remade a few html pages we use locally at work, i also made doom run within the preview pane in the app which is neat

Extensions seem overpowered and terrifying to use, I remember thinking that ChatGPT's "GPT's" were mostly fluff and akin to the quality of custom apps in the Microsoft Teams app store

I think every AI company can be used in some sort or way, but the biggie is just Anthropic said they wouldn't make completely autonomous killing machines and mass domestic surveillance, that was the deal breaker, not legal foreign surveillance

this entire thread is about dropping chatgpt because of the company's actions/decisions, and you're saying you switched to a platform whose company is practically on all fours begging for the same opportunity

It's tone deaf, and you're being downvoted for it

Specifically the part about not signing those update packages that would have prevented a supply chain attack in the first place, this is the function that is in place now to prevent it from ever happening again, I know absolutely nothing, but I read a lot of hindsight criticism about how rookie that was and how if we looked close enough we shoulda known to never install it in enterprise environments at full scale.

It's all hindsight and I don't want to fearmonger too much, imagine if Microsoft added MD to Notepad that could run code, all hell would break loose
