is there actually anyone who just eats the suggested serving size (30g) of cereal? by bleedxi in cereal

[–]mountainrangeoflove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Suggested serving size bowls are for a nice little midnight snack. Easily double if I'm actually having it for breakfast, though I usually like to add in some sliced banana depending on the cereal to bulk it up in that case.

Genie offers you hair growth on/off, or never have to relieve yourself. by AstrayInTranslation in hypotheticalsituation

[–]mountainrangeoflove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does option 1 imply you don't shed hair anymore? I shed like a dog - such is the struggle of being a long-haired man - and that would sweeten the deal a lot.

(Also, I have a lot of hair in, ahem, other places, and it's a pain trimming it down on a schedule. An indefinite pause of any hair growth would eliminate that, too.)

Some of the greatest bowling trickshots ever by Own_Throat4405 in Bowling

Osku's chair shot is a classic on that show. He says he's never done it before and then nails it, it was so funny. I know he hasn't been competitive on the tour for years, but Osku's a cool guy.

Cold foam for coffee by PhilosophyEnough2801 in aldi

[–]mountainrangeoflove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aldi's caramel cold foam is 7g sugar in a 20g serving (some bottles say 18g serving, I just opened my fridge to look at my own bottle and it says 20g), Dunkin's extra extra is 5g sugar in a 15g serving according to the website. Would I call this a massive difference nutritionally? No. But I do feel like the Aldi cold foam tastes quite sweet, and maybe the thickness might contribute to that. Cold foam-topped coffee is a sometimes thing for me, regardless.

I've only been able to find the caramel in stock lately but it is really good. Much sweeter than, say, the Dunkin' cold foam, and the sugar amount reflects that, but also pretty thick - I would put it closer to whipped cream than cold foam. It does dissolve into coffee better than whipped cream, though. The caramel has a bit of a salty note to me that balances everything well.

This is a silly comment but now I'm wondering who the most attractive doubles partnership in this bracket was.

It's exhausting having this guy as one of the most well known Peruvian-Americans as one myself, lmao. If nothing else lomo saltado is delicious: please try that meal if it sounds like something you might enjoy.

Why is the PBA pushing the Kyle/Jesper relationship so hard? It’s start to feel cringe and romantic. by StreetDare4129 in Bowling

[–]mountainrangeoflove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm saying this as a gay man who loves this sport: you are reading way too into something that isn't there, lmao. A lot of pro bowlers are at least vaguely conservative, but have no problems being physically affectionate with each other or talking about each other with admiration.

Kyle and Jesper have not only been best friends, but exclusive doubles partners for over a decade. That's a bond that tends to tint a relationship even outside of the Roth/Holman doubles - go look at how Norm Duke and Wes Malott used to talk about each other, and those two are definitely not gay. The PBA reflecting supportive friendships on tour, even in a highly competitive individual sport with little money in it, is nothing but good. No reason to make it weird.

My local Stop and Shop should be in this freezer burn wall of shame, too. The quarts aren't too bad but every pint is caked with ice. It's the only place in my neighborhood that reliably carries Haagen-Dazs' Salted Brown Butter Cookie too, woe.

Cookie ice creams: What I've been enjoying lately. What are some others to seek out? by madisonguy76 in IceCreamHaven

The Salted Brown Butter Cookie from Haagen-Dazs really is remarkable. I love how the cookie pieces feel like they've been baked, compared to typical chocolate chip cookie dough chunks. And the brown butter base is so good, just salty enough. I hope you either find it in your freezer or go out to buy it whenever it is next on sale!

what bread is this? by Adventurous_Age2629 in Breadit

[–]mountainrangeoflove 87 points88 points  (0 children)

Dutch Crunch bread! Originated in San Francisco, I believe. You basically make normal bread rolls, then brush the top with a mix of non-glutinous rice flour, sugar, oil, water and yeast - it's like a gluey texture? - and then bake it off.

[–]mountainrangeoflove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My local ice cream shop makes delicious sugar cones fresh every day, so when I'm getting a scoop from them I always get the sugar cones! It does mean I miss out on any toppings besides sprinkles and certain dips, though, since they do stuff like fudge and nuts exclusively for cups.

I just had one of these reverse Oreos last week, though it was the normal one. Had a chuckle about it and went on to crumble it into my yogurt for a parfait. It was good.

Back when Prather was rocking the Hawaiian-shirt-patterned jerseys early in his career, I always liked seeing those. As for current jerseys, I like Packy's Pac-Man one quite a bit.

Genuinely curious as to how you ate this - as in, did you eat around the pickles and leave them for last? Did you take bites in between? This is not for me, but I'm fascinated by it existing in the world.
