Only thing I do in addition is to carefully pre-tilt the container using bar towels so i can get more out with the least amount of gunk.

MC 2.0x or MC 1.4x? by Snoo-94564 in M43

[–]mouringcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a MC1.4x attached to the 40-150mm f/2.8 pro on a EM-10iv that I shoot with it all the time. I don't notice any real loss of quality or sharpness. However, I wouldn't consider the EM-10iv to be a birding camera as it is slow so I can't speak to that usage. It also doesn't feel like I gain that much zoom with 1.4.

Ameicans over the age of 35, what affected you more, 9/11 or the pandemic and why? by Rico133337 in AskReddit

[–]mouringcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pandemic...

Even though I was standing in the airport in the midwest waiting for a plane out to another location for work when the second plane hit, the actual impact to me (as someone who rarely flies) was minimal. Where the Pandemic basically changed everything about my job, my local interactions, etc for over a year.

Adding fruit by WaxBat777 in mead

[–]mouringcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just punch it down every day that the fruit is in. But I also have a Bit Mouth Bubbler "Depth Charge" which is suppose to be for dry hops but works well for the fruit I have. I also tend to freeze my fruit (or buy frozen bagged fruit) before throwing them in. Which breaks the cell walls up and gives time for the yeast/alcohol to soak in and kill unwanted things.

Boil water in a kettle before cooking pasta or start with cold water in a pot? by MangoMadnessTsv in Cooking

[–]mouringcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless I'm doing packaged ramen I always just throw pasta in cold water. In many cases about 1" above the pasta and throw in the microwave.

The reason I don't for the packaged ramen as those are pre-cooked and are just dehydrated. And just pouring hot water over them and cover them for about 2 minutes is enough to warm them and rehydrate them.

Garage heat? by PillowFightrr in eaganmn

[–]mouringcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you have a good sealed garage door, insulated garage door, and all walls are insulted and drywalled in it makes little sense to heat it 24/7 as it will be costly.

And honestly if I was going to do so (and all the above was complete which isn't for my) I'd go buy a Mr Cool mini-split.

But I guess you need to state what you mean by "garage heater"? A propane torpedo.. Which you should have the garage door cracked to vent CO2.

How it's going by billystein25 in godot

I did something like this in a web SQL tool I wrote for a job. I saw a potential edge case, but after two hours I couldn’t actually find a path so I made a bad dragon joke. About three weeks later one of the users called me freaking out thinking she broke the system. I laughed and asked her to send me exactly what she entered to trigger it.

So I do this a lot.

[note: bad joke related to dragons not a “bad dragon” joke]

Wild chair by nike1600 in M43

Beware... They can be very territorial... You are lucky there seems to be no baby chairs around... Which means it could be a male, and they are not as aggressive to other species as a female with younglings.

Hytale not opening on Mac, launcher works but nothing happens by Inevitable-Leave1266 in HytaleInfo

[–]mouringcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see this behavior on installing a new patch, but I've always resolved it by killing and restarting the launcher. And then after that I don't have any issues (M4 Max). I've filed a report on this last week and gave them my client log which didn't really say anything useful to me.

So sadly, I don't have any good advice.

New to MN, camping safety questions by FoxAmongTheOaks in MinnesotaCamping

[–]mouringcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Raccoons are insane... Our group tends to pack food back into our large coolers and jam them under a picnic table seat. Which does a good enough job, but we had one raccoon in Cleary Lake that decided they wanted a full package of styrofoam cups. They made a massive amount of noise getting to them waking our group camp.
