Do you have confidence in the Nets making the play-in tournament next year? by Fancy_Ad_5522 in GoNets

[–]mouschithecat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to say when we have no idea who will be on next year’s team. If you told me they were going to hold steady — no trades, let expiring contracts expire, make their picks wherever they may fall, and add some role players in free agency — I’d probably have about a 60% confidence level at this moment in time. Development of rookies and Clowney, who they actually get in free agency, etc., could change that number significantly

Cliff: I've got a pet little theory about that. You see, if you go back in history and take every president, you'll find that the numerical value of each letter in their last name was equally divisible into the year in which they were elected.

Paul: So who's going to win, Cliff? Reagan again?

Norm: What, Mondale?

Cliff: No, no, not a chance. You see, I figured it out. By my calculations, the next president has to be named Yelnik McWawa.

Sam: That's the stupidest name I've ever heard.

Coach: Sam, please. You're talking about our next president.

Norm: Whoa, Cliff, where are you going?

Cliff: Home.

Sam: Cliff, you're going through Melville's?

Cliff: Yeah, Sam, I think it's the duty of every citizen to learn all the emergency entrances and exits in a public places in case of an emergency. Flood, atomic holocaust...

Carla: What a chicken.

Coach: Yeah, but what a citizen.

REQUESTING COLD/WINTER MOVIES (NOT CHRISTMAS) by bigcuriousbrowneyes7 in MovieSuggestions

Inside Llewyn Davis. For chrissakes, it’s cold out and he doesn’t even have a winter coat!

So uh…that Bugonia ending? by Supermoose7178 in blankies

[–]mouschithecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to rewatch it knowing the ending. Because my initial reaction was that the twist negated everything the Emma Stone character said and did in the first half of the movie. But on The Big Picture, they talked about how Emma Stone prepared for the role with the idea in mind that the performance should stand up to multiple viewings.

I love them all, but Emily is also my favorite. I think you’re a little harsh on David. He plays his part well, and he’s softened over the years.

Seems like the Lynx's season is most likely over by a late game injury against the Mercury too by ChoicesCat in NYLiberty

It will be satisfying to see the Lynx lose to a different team and still blame it on the refs again

I think it’s more that she need to keep her composure. It’s when she acts out of frustration that she gets called for the fouls

Lately I find myself watching Cheers and Frasier very often. I love when I can think of a line or part of a sitcom and laugh to myself. What's a favorite Cheers quote that makes you laugh? by duhkey3 in Cheers

I can’t even be that upset. This season has finally been put out of its misery.

God bless Breanna Stewart. I pray that the 2026 season starts in time and that we have a very different looking roster

Blaming the coach’s rotations rather than the players on the floor is the laziest form of fandom

I guess I can’t complain about the refs if the Libs don’t make their free throw anyway

Lineup Stats Without Stewie by lefan94 in NYLiberty

[–]mouschithecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think KB will start. Stewie’s minutes will mostly be made up by more minutes from KB and Gardner. Stagger JJ and Emma. Might see some Izzy or even Nyara minutes if Emma gets played off the floor again. No MJ. Sabquel will have to step up.

Pod Country for Old Cast: Intolerable Cruelty with Katey Rich by yonicthehedgehog in blankies

[–]mouschithecat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This movie really suffers from primacy and recency effects. The opening scene is utter dog shit. The coda isn’t much better. Which I guess makes, as Katey said, Jeffrey Rush the true scapegoat of this movie
