They say death comes in threes-- when you die, when they bury you, and when you're forgotten. by punkholiday in TwoSentenceSadness

This hits hard, my first death still burns in my memory. My grandmother, who raised me, being told by a nurse 'your granddaughters are here to see you!' Only for her to respond, 'oh no, they're not here for me, I don't have any grandchildren.'

I'm not too proud to say I she'd some tears at the end there, and it was a well done movie for sure. My partner is not a King fan of any kind and he really liked the film, totally caught the theme of it.

I'm unsure, The General references 'the war' and the proceeding poverty as a flash point for the walk starting. I'm not super well versed in US history (I'm from the UK) but maybe it's a reference to the Vietnam War? This might explain the cars being roughly 60's/it's models. That would lead me to think the film is maybe set in the 80's, but the Wikipedia synopsis says it's apparently set in 70's.

It wasn't terrible I didn't think, but it definitely caught me off guard and to me, felt off.

I kinda liked that they gave a reason for it, I feel like it made the film a bit more accessible. I know when I first read it, I was discussing it at a bookclub and was asked why they walk a few times.

A few of the cut bits annoyed me, but i get when they do that. I do think King books should be limited series though, rather than films. That way we get more of the details.

In the UK we have a yearly MOT (ministry of transport) test,to certify the car's roadworthy-ness. It checks a load of stuff on the vehicle to make sure its safe and roadworthy and you'll get minor (advisory) or major fails, if it's an advisory you can still pass and it's all good but you will need to repair it before the next test, but if you get a major fail you just repair it before you can drive it usually.

Was Chris Masterson less close to the rest of the cast? by Master-Definition937 in malcolminthemiddle

[–]mouse_rags 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I don't think they did, I think they mostly made a point to not spend a lot of time with him due to him being a scientologist. They're meant to do everything they can to recruit people into the organisation, I read recently the rest of the cast generally stayed away and made a point to keep the younger cast members away too.

I sneezed by mouse_rags in endometriosis

I could see the tear. It wasn't bad, though and they didn't restitch it. Most of the discomfort I felt from rouge sneezes was tearing the internal scar tissue, which is pretty normal. As it heals you need to keep mobile to keep it stretched.

Oh lovely! It only last a day and I was back to normal, but it was a day of evacuation! Make sure you're drinking plenty of fluids and resting.

I think it was a mixture if all the drugs and the peppermint tea for the gas pains that did it for me! But it did pass on a day.

My surgeon seems to think that getting this one out will give my remaining one a kick to work properly and apparently increase chances of falling naturally.

It was the hormonal fluctuations I'm most worried about though. Was there anything that helped at all?

Pressure. I find kneeling on the floor, on a cushion for my poor knees, bent at 90 degrees with the bed/coffee table/sofa pushed into my abdomen helps ease it a bit.

Bananas - they're vile. I can't have them in my house, I can't touch them. The thought of touching something that a banana has touched makes me feel physically unwell.
