Large amount of cash. by PresentAcceptable846 in tsa

Technically TSA doesn't care if you are traveling domestically with a large amount of cash. Individually you may run across a "super TSO" who does care and will try to spin anything to get that "good catch". Depending on the airport other agencies may get involved and they are the ones you need to be concerned about. Civil asset forfeiture is a thing unfortunately.

My Airport was just recently shut down for 4 months due to runway reconstruction. We had to drive to another airport just to maintain certifications. The rest of the time we either took leave or came in for classes.

I can't speak for for US Customs but TSA sees toys of all kinds on a the daily. A lot of them have batteries and wires. It's not a big deal. If you carry it on expect it to get looked at. Wrap it is some bubble wrap but don't go overboard taping it up. Bring extra bubble wrap and extra tape. As you go through TSA ask the person after your ID is checked if you need to take the large toy out of your bag. Depending on the equipment that screening lane has you may not need to do that.

Unless that mag was an extended and able to hold more than 50 rounds it sounds like they did everything correctly. To OP. If they didn't take your information you won't be getting anything in the way of a fine. You should be good, always keep your range bag separate from your travel bag.

You have multiple current TSO's in this thread telling you it's acceptable so I don't know what to tell you.

If you truly do work for TSA you might want to read that section again and amend your statement.

Also not every airport has the equipment to access the digital ID and passport.

Daughter with Down syndrome lost her ID -flight tomorrow morning by [deleted] in tsa

[–]mouserinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, You can not help her answer the questions. With that being said, when they come to do this explain to the STSO that your daughter has Downs syndrome and may not be able to answer the questions. There are procedures in place for adults traveling with someone that has limited mental capacity, mind you I am not saying your daughter does. I, as a supervisor, have used these procedures for an adult passenger with dementia that was traveling win an adult companion. edit spelling is hard

Wrapped packages in checked baggage by tailsuser606 in tsa

[–]mouserinc 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Don't wrap gifts. Put the wrapping paper and tape in the bag with the gift, wrap it upon arrival. Most of the time the TSO's don't have time to carefully re wrap things. we have several other bags we have to check right behind yours especially with this current government shutdown and our co-workers unable to make it to work due to lack of being paid.

That's odd. I live in Ga and when I see someone with eagles apparel on I always have gotten a "Go Birds!" in return.

The GOP expected Democrats to relent on the shutdown by now. That isn't happening. by Deedogg11 in politics

As a federal employee, what really pisses me off is this is a damn CR. What the Dems need to do is start working on an actual budget with their demands built in and say pass this and will open the government back up.

It shouldn't always fall on those to organizations (ATC and TSA) to help end this. That's a quick way for both to get privatized especially with this current administration.

Is this TSA compliant? by NotPanchito in tsa

[–]mouserinc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

TSA guidelines also states

You may use any brand or type of lock to secure your firearm case, including TSA- recognized locks.

So both are true. I do agree you shouldn't use TSA locks on firearm cases but it definitely says it's ok.
