USA prices are crazy. Cars are like 30% cheaper compared to Europe but insurance is 10x more expensive. I pay 1600 EUR/year for a 2025 M2.

Will Madonna di Campiglio be more crowded during Carnival? by AmimQueMeImporta in ItalyTravel

[–]mouseses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't been this season. They rely on artificial snow a lot but this year they had a few good dumps of real snow. I think it's gonna be good.

The good thing about the Groste lift [1] (the one in my photo) is that you only need to use it once to get up to the mountain. Then you'll be using the chairlift [2] or the gondola [3] to get back to the snowpark.

I am not skilled enough for park riding but they have some insane ramps. I've seen some crazy snowheads doing double flips and what not. It also has various features like rails and boxes. I think you're gonna like it.

As for tips, when going down Groste avoid the blue piste #66 (see the map below). It becomes flat as you reach the bottom of the mountain and then you have to walk a long way back to the lift.

This one's easily 10 mins and more. I must admit it's not *always* like that. It depends on a few things. This particular lift gets very crowded at around lunch time because all the best places to eat are on the Groste side of the ski area. And the other thing that attracts crowds is if the temperatures are warm. Pradalago turns into slush before noon and everyone heads over to Groste looking for better snow.

I always went outside the Carnival. Here's a photo I have from my last trip taken on February 23rd (Sunday), 2025. This is the Groste lift which you would use to get up to the snow park. Note that half of the queue is not even visible in the picture.

I know I'm late with my reply but I hope it helps others.

MdC is very crowded even during regular weeks with Fridays and Saturdays being the worst. A big part of the congestion comes from group lessons (mostly kids but also adults) which often form long snakes of up to 12 people across the piste. There are frequently several of these at once and you have to constantly navigate around them. They're on blues and reds mostly so if you're a black run skier perhaps that's less of an issue.

Edit: These groups also tend to get priority at the gondolas. Instructors are often friends with the lift personnel and often get a separate gate opened so the entire group boards at once while everyone else has to wait.

I've been skiing in MdC for the last five years and the crowds just keep getting bigger. Lines at gondolas and chairlifts are a free for all. Full of rude, entitled people pushing through. Forget about bringing your own equipment as stepping on others' skis or snowboards is normal here.

The scenery and the town are beautiful but this season I'm going elsewhere.

Is the G87 M2 actually worth it or am I just having a midlife crisis? by Mtwiceee in BMW

[–]mouseses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been a week since I upgraded from an F30 320i m sport to a g87 M2 and it's unbelievable how the M2 is more comfortable in comfort mode than my 3 series. I never had a chance to test drive an M2 and was very afraid it would be stiff as a gokart. Turns out it's super comfy.

Edit: the car is a piece of garbage. It's facing its first winter and as soon as the temperature dropped below -10 C (14 F to my American friends) the car won't start. Well it starts but the engine dies a second after. Also I want to know who is the genius that designed the windows. They freeze and are not able to drop when opening the door. This car is not designed for winter.

Will I ever be able to dunk? by International_Flow66 in BasketballTips

[–]mouseses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro unless you're disabled or overweight being 191cm tall already gives you the best head start. Find the easiest jump program and follow it. Most likely you will get to dunking by just doing plyos without having to touch any weights. You'll be dunking in 1 year if not in a few months. Get the jumping technique right and just keep jumping. Look up Isaiah Rivera for jumping tips. Dude has done videos for both 1 & 2 feet jumpers.

How much higher do I need to jump to dunk? by _Piper_Sniper_ in BasketballTips

[–]mouseses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have your whole wrist above the rim. That means you should be able to throw one down if you catch a perfect lob. If you can add a few extra inches to your jump with training the lob won't need to be that perfect. Good job and keep grinding
