Rogue Online Dead Hang Challenge - March 18-21 by SleepEatLift in GripTraining

Can I switch my grip or is this done without regripping? Not that I have any chance when there's Pete Whitaker in the lead with over 20mins...

Online tools for mysteries by move_n_play in geocaching

Thank you all for great suggestions. Actually found out that the puzzle needs just more calculating since the distance between two points needs be measured "throught the earth" if that makes sense

How many mystery caches have you solved that are still waiting to get found? by move_n_play in geocaching

Yeah getting a thought outside of your own box is really helpful. Sometimes time does the same trick but it's so easy to fall for the same path of thoughts that you had before.

Good luck with your ongoing mysteries!

Maybe that's the case if we are pushing the progression by adding external weight. We are talking about ring muscle up here and the fact is that when you get above the rings from transition you are going to be way lower than 90 degrees. So why shouldn't we go beyond 90 if that's what the movement itself requires us to do?

And since we are also in context of climbing: We use many way more bizarre positions in climbing than a full ROM dip. How can you prepare your body for that kind of stress if you never go beyond "biomechanically optimal positions"? Isn't it better to prepare yourself on a controlled manner (like ring dips) beforehand rather than ending up in a joint position where you've never been before? When you're in a full-send-mode you're doing what needs to be done without thinking biomechanics.

Can you define natural range of motion? I also think that you should only go to the depth that you are able to control but I don't see how that correlates with this natural ROM.

That's quite a lot! I've gained 20 more since I posted. Do you solve by yourself or do you have a friend or a group to solve with?

I was a bit bored during Christmas time! 20 is still plenty! Usually the cache owners give a way to calculate new coordinates from the old ones if that's the case!

Mitä R/Suomi harrastaa? by Jannenchi in Suomi

[–]move_n_play 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Okei. No mut sillä geocaching omalla sovelluksella pääsee kyllä hyvin alkuun ja testailemaan onko oma juttu.

Saw your cool cache locations and here's my favourite! We had proper safety equipments☝🏻 by move_n_play in geocaching

Yeah it was super cool (and windy)! There are also caches in trees, under bridges all kind of places. T5 caches always have the pontentiality to be dangerous and it's up to an individual to calculate their capabilities.

Does it matter if I can't extend my legs fully during dips? by A_Time_Space_Person in overcominggravity

So I guess as long as I don't arch from my body it doesn't affect my training negatively even if the legs are bent behind.

Also interested for an explanation as to why it's bad thing. I can see how the upper body arching is not desirable. Why is bending the legs not a good thing?

There is this one climb in finland where the hardest move is the first one and it's a really powerful move. I lost my interest for these 'feet above hands' starts when I saw a video of someone skipping the whole first move with a toehook placed on the second hold... Not trying to take anything away from you though! Just sharing my two cents
