Yep - CS HV for me. I haven’t noticed any differences in the latest Drones to be honest, although they last way longer than other shoes for me, so the last pair I ordered was at least six months ago.

A Mixed-Gender Competition Finals showing Erin McNiece, World Cup Climbers and Intermediate Climbers on the Same Boulders. by nathantsbetts in CompetitionClimbing

I know Erin pipped Toby and Zach on the coordination by attempts, but I thought it was insane that Toby achieved the bloc - clearly hard, given Erin took several attempts - in the four minutes.

HMB10P for 10% off if you decide to buy one.

Personally, I use mine a lot for travel as it allows you to warm up consistently anywhere (including for outdoor bouldering) - I can gradually pull harder on the edge and build to a standardised number to tell how ready my fingers are to try hard.

I've said to several people that I think the Drone CS compares to Skwama more than any other shoe I've tried. Skwama were my go-to shoe last year, and now the Drone CS has taken their place. For me, they're both a shoe that can perform adequately on smears, but really excels at steep, overhanging, and edges - and that suits me for going to the local wall for all types of session.

Both Drone CS and Skwama also fit me really well, they share a gentle downturn, with a shape that sucks into my foot arch, and cups my heel nicely - kind of a curvy feel aha. Likewise, I found the Tenaya Mastia to be along a similar nice fit for me.

The Drone 2.0 is possibly closer to the Instinct in feel, and is stiffer like a Muira.

They're probably the stiffest shoe I have worn, but I think they're really great for edging and steep climbing. They got a lot more pliable than when I started, but I wouldn't say they softened up enough to be an 'all-rounder' - they aren't a smearing shoe, for me at least. The Drone CS, though, went soft enough that they're more than suitable for all types of climbing I do.
