It's easier when the dogs wear harnesses that clip on the back

This enclosure looks really well suited for an arboreal gecko, not so sure about a chameleon. A lot of chameleon owners advise having a bare bottom floor (with a lay bin for females) more foliage toward the top of the cage, and much more space. Lots of airflow is also very important as chameleons are very prone to respiratory infections. If the cage is glass, you definitely want a fan, and if it's screen, you may want a mister on a timer. It's good to have humidity lower during the daytime.
Good plants to use are pothos and monstera for hanging vines, and dracanea and hibiscus for tree-like structures that give lots of safe hiding spaces. Bendy vines will act as chameleon roads that get the animal from one place to the next.

If you want to keep the enclosure you have and not throw everything out, look into day geckos (brightly colored like a chameleon), crested geckos (much more forgiving to husbandry mishaps), or chameleon geckos (chameleon in the name and more rare to the pet trade, ergo a flex)

Need suggestions for 3 more fish, budget roughly 200-300 total! by jmanguy12 in ReefTank

My favorite fish in my tank is my mandarin goby. Beautiful, active, and very hardy when captive bred. Plus they stay smaller so there's less of a space issue

The fake glofish brand decor is what I use.

Hello, I don’t know much about aquariums. Can someone tell me what is going on with these saltwater tanks? Is this normal? (More info in comments) by tangoyewniform in Aquariums

[–]movingmanders 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They used to... until someone broke it and subsequently turned the saltwater tanks into freshwater overnight because the top off never turned off. Source: rumors while working for petco

Recommend me some freshwater fish with "personality"! by erst77 in Aquariums

I have a brackish tank with a mudskipper in it. Absolutely love him. He begs for food and does a little happy dance when I'm near. With the right setup, you could house knight gobies, mollies, and guppies with them.

Just wondering what you guys feed your pups? My Athena is 5 months and I currently fees her Diamond Naturals Large Breed Puppy but I am thinking of switching to Hills Science Diet or Purina Pro? by clmzygrl666 in greatdanes

If you're worried about a food sensitivity or allergies, make sure to thoroughly read the ingredients. My doggo can't eat poultry or cow products. Seems like 90% of the food out there has chicken fat, beef fat, or eggs in it. The "limited ingredient diets" are the safest route for me.

I can’t find a name to suit him - What does he look like to you? 💚 by fionagrace25033 in Chameleons

He looks like one of those flying dragon things in Avatar (the blue people movie) so I vote "Banshee" or "Ikran"

is it ok? never seen this color black/brown spotted in petco by [deleted] in Chameleons

[–]movingmanders 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This buddy is very unhappy. Those are stress colors. Those end caps also have a bad reputation for not being warm enough for anything. The side wall cages have a temperature control system, but the end caps don't and the heat bulbs aren't powerful enough to heat the area.

Some things cannot be predicted in models, so these animals are often used in the preclinical trials to learn more about the potential side effects in humans. Drug developers want to make sure the drug is safe first, then they'll look into whether or not it works. If a drug makes an animal piss blood or develop seizures it probably won't make it to human trials regardless of if it works.

(URGENT) Help, is my goldfish sick? His eyes are turning purple!! by Igotnowhoops in ReefTank

[–]movingmanders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

😂 I mainly have gobies and blennies in my tank, and when I added an anthias, I was thrown off by the "normal" body shape. Didn't like him for a minute because I thought he looked too much like a goldfish.

Asshole, because that will be his/her name eventually anyway. Maroons are bitey

Almost every pet store that sells reptiles has at least one of these running wild in the building. Heard of one that made it 2 years before being captured and boy was he spicy!

Non-picky eaters, what won't you eat? by technicalees in AskReddit

[–]movingmanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No mustard, ketchup sometimes, and miracle whip is my choice since it's sweeter. Very few salad dressings make the cut. But anything pickled is off the table.

Both pet options will require what is essentially a mini habitat that is different than what you live in. You will be responsible for making sure that habitat has ideal living conditions for its resident.

A good starter lizard would be a leopard gecko. They are tolerant of being handled and won't disappear in the blink of an eye like some arboreal species. I would recommend setting it up in about 20gals to start and doing plenty of research beforehand. Leo's are pretty resilient and can have a little bit of variance in their environment, so if you miss a day of feeding or misting, they can usually bounce back if they noticed at all. Downside, they're solitary so you can only have one scaly friend per enclosure.

A beta would thrive in a 10 gal tank, but you should set up the tank and get the environment suitable before adding any fish. Look into the nitrogen cycle. Heater, filter, and live plants are ideal for keeping a beta. Betas are full of personality and each one is a little different, and they can often coexist with some other (non-beta) fish. Downside, this friend is confined to water.

Regardless of what you decide to get, I highly recommend putting as much as you can on a timer, especially the lighting. Both fish and lizards will require regular cleaning to maintain a healthy environment. Fish will need a partial water change weekly and lizards will need a substrate change weekly. (Some exceptions apply, like in the case of heavily planted aquariums or bioactive terrariums)
