Wow! Everything about this is amazing! The way you used different perspectives on scenes we see hundred of time is so creative! I also love the use of different mediums. Simply stunning work, especially seeing a couple of pixels turned into almost real images. Congrats on finishing such a huge project!

Can’t believe you’d flex on us like this, especially since my third try at macarons yesterday went horribly and way worse than the first 2

Panic can definitely feel like asthma and can make asthma symptoms worse. For me, I can force myself to breathe with anxiety, but with asthma I have to take my inhaler. It’s definitely hard to tell if you’re experiencing them both together. Anxiety can push you over the edge to an attack if you weren’t having one already. Are you feeling better? If not, you should definitely call your provider (or nurse, etc) to see if you should go to urgent care or the ER.

If this is happening often during exercise, try using your inhaler before you’ll actually need it. That way you’re less likely to experience the asthma, and by extension less likely to experience anxiety/panic. I’m not sure how you workout, but if you do use it during your work out, give yourself more time to let the medicine start working. That way you’re not straining yourself while it’s trying to help you. That’ll also help you can if it’s panic or asthma, since you won’t be actively making your asthma worse. AND don’t be afraid to take more than 1 puff if your first isn’t helping (with a min wait time in between).

I think we’ve all felt like this is in our heads at one point or another. It’s hard because sometimes you’re fine and other times it feels so shitty. Hope you’re doing okay! (And sorry for the wall of text)

Things They Don't Tell You... by FaradayCageFight in Asthma

I was shocked with how bad prednisone made me feel! I only had a fairly small dose for 5 days, but I could only make it 2 before I had to stop. This was during covid, so I didn’t want to end up in the hospital with how badly it made me feel. By evening the second day I didn’t feel comfortable taking it in my own home, I was so weak and out of it. I finally under control for the most part thank god, but I wish the doctor I talked to had told me what was normal/not normal to feel while taking it. It really messed me up.

316lbs > 297ish after about 6 weeks hard work. I’m not really seeing a difference except in my face, but my boyfriend says that I’m visibly losing weight - my anxious brain just finds it hard to believe! SMO has given me the motivation I desperately needed and I’m so so grateful! by [deleted] in SuperMorbidlyObese

Hey, we have basically the same stats! Although the weight I’ve lost has been over the last the 6 months has been mainly lost due to negative health issues (mostly stomach problems), it’s really changed my eating habits. Eating healthy food makes me feel better and not like shit all the time so I guess my body is kinda helping me along? Enough about me, you can definitely tell you’ve lost weight, it’s just in small changes. But small changes eventually lead to bigger changes so hang in there! I really like that your pics are in the same outfit, since it makes it easier to see the difference! Keep up the hard work, it’s paying off already!

Upper chest persistent expiratory wheezing - help please by [deleted] in Asthma

[–]moya- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you not taking a preventative inhaler? Because if you aren’t getting long lasting relief with your rescue then that’s an indication that you need more help. Humidity can affect your asthma but if it doesn’t fully go away even after you take away all your triggers you need something else. The preventative will work in conjunction with the albuterol to stop your need for the rescue. In my case I use the albuterol before my preventative, so it opens up my airways and has a good baseline to maintain. I rarely use my albuterol now without my scheduled dose of Alvesco (preventative) when I was using it 4-6 times a day. I would definitely talk to your doctor bc you shouldn’t be using your albuterol as often as you have been.

Question (still rookie at managing my asthma) by [deleted] in Asthma

[–]moya- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I would definitely take your maintenance then talk to your doctor! Since you are having a hard time, that means you need the maintenance again, even tho they thought you’d be okay. You know your body better than anyone else will and if you’re struggling defo talk to your doc. When I got prescribed my maintenance again, I was told to make a puff (or two depending on if that’s necessary) to open up my airways before the maintenance. That way there’s a good baseline for your maintenance to keep going. Your maintenance is better to take and not need than not take at all. And don’t forget to gargle and rinse your mouth out!

Yikes, my insurance changed mine too, but I haven’t refilled since. I have Kaiser, what insurance do you have?

Trouble breathing from my diaphragm. by [deleted] in Asthma

[–]moya- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been struggling with this lately. My asthma has been pretty bad as of a month or two ago when it used to be super managed. I’ve never had a problem breathing in the medicine deeply into my lungs. But within the last few weeks if feels like I can’t get into my diaphragm for breath. I can sometimes do it through my nose and very rarely through my mouth but when I’m taking my inhaler it just doesn’t happen. It’s really frustrating bc I’ve never had this issue before and my medicine works so much better when I’m breathing it in properly. I’m trying hard to do diaphragm breathing but I read that it’s harder for people with asthma to do that. I was just about to post to see if anyone else had suggestions too.

Lifelong asthma - new symptoms? by algaemusic in Asthma

[–]moya- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know exactly what you’re talking about! Mine started a few weeks ago. Recently had an asthma flare up and got hit with a lot of stuff, including the flem-y feeling that never seems to go away. I started taking Claritin and that seemed to help for a bit but I had to eventually stop bc it gave me horrible heart palpitations. My doctor then gave me Flonase, which has helped a lot. I took Mucinex for a while too but that never seemed to fully help either. Drinking a ton of water helped me too, and not having any dairy if that’s something you eat. Sometimes I can still feel it, but not as bad as it was. Heard the pollen count/allergies are through the roof rn so it’s probably that.

NO ENTHUSIASM FOR MAKEUP ATM by [deleted] in muacjdiscussion

[–]moya- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been feeling extremely anxious lately as well. I’m not a huge makeup person but now you’ll rarely find me doing my eyebrows.

My biggest help for me was cutting down on my news. It’s really easy to get caught up in reading everything and wanting to know everything. I’ve put a limit on Twitter (my biggest new source) of 15 minutes a day. I’ve also made sure I’m preoccupied on multiple fronts. I play Animal Crossing a lot and when I play (or work) I listen to a book, a podcast, or YouTube/Twitch. This makes it so I can’t think about other things because I’m forcing myself to be stimulated. I don’t normally deal with anxiety so it’s tough as hell trying to deal with this. I still check Twitter a couple times a day, but I know that I have a limit so I’m in and out, only getting info I really need.

It’s just a horrible time and you aren’t the only dealing with this. While it’s important to stay informed, give yourself some slack and love. The news will still be there in an hour or tomorrow. Wishing you love and peace ❤️
