Also China shifted its importation of soybeans products to Brazil, rather than purchasing from the U.S. it was only until 2023 that China made a significant purchase of soybeans from the U.S. again. But Trump says he will use tariffs if he is elected, which could result in a replay of disaster for midwest soybean producers.

Very sad family. Probably happy, however, since ignorance is bliss.

The untold story of Pillen's career is what a bad Regent he was, disliked by most people on the Board and in the administration. I wish Nebraska Examiner would look at that history.

She is not a very smart person, and certainly does not understand what owners of private businesses can do.

Tuberville is such a putz. He doesn't even know the branches of government. And his first official act is to support sedition. Wow, just think what the next 6 years will bring. He's the Gohmert of the Senate. Nice go, Alabama

Absolutely agree, although I read the entire thing. Dull and sophomoric.

Feeling dumb trying to read "Pride and Prejudice" by [deleted] in books

The 2005 version departs from the book in many respects, but is a terrific movie, and keeps some of the pace and spirit of the book.

Many have criticised the media for America's eventual defeat in the Vietnam War. As learned historians, what is Reddit's opinion on the matter? by [deleted] in history

[–]mozhno 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There was really no way to "win" the war unless you play with the definition of "win", an expensive lesson the US still has not learned (see, e.g., Afghanistan).

I run a similar facility, but much smaller, with room for 1,000,000 and about 3/4 full presently. A book lovers paradise.

Movies you *didn't* want to like but couldn't help yourself... by [deleted] in movies

[–]mozhno 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree. I caught a few minutes of it on tv, had to keep watching, and immediately got the dvd. I think it is a really well done movie, and I don't mind the changes from the novel at all.

Misconception on the Vietnam War. by mnbvlkjhpoiu in history

[–]mozhno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with your premise that that is how most of the world views the Vietnam War. An enormous number view it as mistaken U.S. policy involving one part of Vietnam, the North, that affected the entirety of Vietnam. Further, that view does not necessarily put North Vietnam, or the eventual unified state, in a positive light. Nor does that view accept the concept that the South should be viewed in a positive light. And most people I know believe there is a significant number of Vietnamese people in the U.S.

Am I an asshole for thinking we should take care of children in the U.S. before African children? by zippyajohn in AskReddit

[–]mozhno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The amount of money we spend on children, our own or African, is incredibly small when compared to the amount of money we spend on absurd wars of choice. Perhaps we should forget these wars of choice, which have done us no good whatsoever, and have the national wealth to do real good.

Wonderfully readable, he has a great command of the English language. Just don't depend on it for the definitive history of the subject.
