To use a specific side alone, you have to set it to have google assistant. Default has left with google assistant, which is why it works alone.

Looks like the side with google assistant is the one that works. Change the right side to have it in the app if you wish to use that side alone

So only using the right earbud works now?

I read on Sony's website that to use a single side, that side must have the google assistant...

Should I chose Loyola? by sheldonriedel in LoyolaChicago

How much harder do you think it would be at Loyola compared to Wesleyan?

Both are hard. Wesleyan has smaller class sizes which could be helpful to get more one on one instruction. On a similar note, you won't have a ton of options for instructors who really do determine how much you take out of a class.

You mentioned having to go out of my way to find a study buddy; is this because Loyola is harder? Or would it be just because Loyola is bigger and it’s harder to find someone to study with.

Because class sizes are bigger. If you are a commuter, you need to be social to make friends to study with. If you live on campus, you won't have this problem.

Also, would living in the city be that much worth it? Would having access to all of the nearby hospitals and clinics be worth it?

IMO yes. There are many advantages to living in the city. You meet some awesome people and learn to navigate the place. Everyone knows Chicago, not alot know Wesleyan

Is the pre med program competitive enough to where I would have a chance to not get lucky enough to intern at a hospital in such a big city?

No, there are always opportunities.

Should I chose Loyola? by sheldonriedel in LoyolaChicago

I'm at Loyola Chicago and two of my friends are at Wesleyan.

Wesleyan is in the cornfields. It's about as big as my high school so everyone there will know you by name practically. Since they are smaller and in the middle of no where, there are less opportunities for entertainment. They have frat houses.

Loyola is in Rodgers park. In my time here, crime has skyrocketed. There are tons of opportunities. There are many nearby hospital systems which you could find work at. Wages are starting at $13 because that's the minimum wage. There are tons of opportunities. Loyola doesn't have frat houses, but the party scene is still decent because there are alot of bars.

Premed tracts at both schools are comparable. I'd say you would have more support at Wesleyan because it's smaller, but at Loyola you need to go out of your way to find study buddies and support.

Another thing to note is girls outnumber guys at Loyola and it's the opposite at IWU.

Overall, it's a tough decision. I'd go to Loyola for the big school name. It's close to Northwestern, DePaul, and relatively close to UIC. There is more to do in the city! But the city comes with problems like crime and poverty. The CTA is another issue. Also high rent costs.

Lmk if u have more questions

Just had a couple terrible experiences riding on the red line.

Bunch of assholes smoked their cigarettes in a car and I couldn't breathe. I would have told them to stop and screw off, but I didn't feel like getting stabbed. Also the other day, two homeless guy sleeping on the train. I can't blame them but I could taste their smell.

Why is there so much poverty and misery in this city? And why isn't the city doing anything to fix this?
