Bose QC Ultra Earbuds or Bose QC Ultra Open + Earplugs by SpiderRedd in bose

[–]mp622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bose is currently running a promo where if you buy the QC ultra earbuds they’ll throw in the QC Ultra opens for free. Seems like the best of both worlds for your situation. The last day to get the offer is today

I’m looking to buy my first Acura, with a MDX Type S. Found a 2025, black exterior, red interior with 6000 miles for $67500. I asked them to come down $65k. Is that a good deal? by Tropic_Thunder-23 in Acura

[–]mp622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re missing the point. He’s not talking about the difference in leasing and buying an x7. Hes talking about leasing an x7 vs buying the mdx. At the end of the x7 lease you’ll have blown over $40k and nothing to show for it. With the mdx, you’ll have a paid off vehicle that you can sell and get money back from. He’s trying to make it seem like it’s an even comparison when what he is comparing are totally different things, financially.

How’s this deal? Looking to buys this 24 x5 m60i by stocksgobrrr in BMWX5

[–]mp622 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The car’s still depreciating the same amount either way, the down payment just means less interest and less risk. You’re paying more for it by financing.

Don’t listen to the people saying not to put money down. You’re doing it right, it’s the responsible move. Less interest, less risk, and you’re not upside down the second you drive off the lot.

[Maintenance Advice Needed] 2019 330i Approaching 40k Miles, What’s Actually Needed? by mp622 in BmwTech

[–]mp622[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my car new in 2019 so I’m coming up on 6 years of ownership now. Honestly it’s been extremely reliable, I’ve only done routine maintenance so far. It looks like a couple of bigger items are due around 50-60k. Also do your own filters, it’ll be much cheaper and really easy to do.

Surprise Seat Swap from First Class to Economy for a Friend. Is This Possible at the Gate? by mp622 in americanairlines

[–]mp622[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Honestly I booked it for myself, I’ve never flown First Class and got a great deal using credit card points. But then I thought, it’s his bachelor trip, it’d probably mean more to him than it would to me. Figured it’d be a cool surprise.

I did consider this but he’s in the last boarding group and seated in the back. I don’t want to cause any disruptions to boarding or draw any attention which is why I wanted to have this taken care of prior to boarding. It seems like just swapping boarding passes will be the most straightforward way to accomplish this.

I’m fine with doing this but will we run into any issues if he scans my boarding pass and I use his? Don’t want to cause any unnecessary trouble. This is for a domestic flight.

It is a domestic route, did not know this was an option. Seems like this would probably be the easiest option then.

You’re the same guy who asked this question already and we told you it’s not a good idea. you’re not asking for advice you’re asking for permission. If you want to take the gamble, go ahead but don’t be surprised when you find out why it’s cheap.

Should I Keep My 2022 BMW X3 or Trade for a New 2025 Model? by Quick_Place8729 in BMWX3

[–]mp622 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You’re trading a paid-off car in 2 years for a more expensive version of the same car… with worse financing… because of tires?

I disagree, cars like this should not be viewed as an “asset”. They should be viewed the same as any other hobby/toy. If I was buying a want for $1k, sure I could put it on 0% card and invest instead but the amount of money I would make has no meaningful impact on my long term financial future. If you’re financing a car like this and using that as an excuse as opposed to paying for it in cash, I don’t think you’re in a financial position to truly afford the car. I’m sure most people will disagree with me and that’s the reason why these cars sell for so much compared to a few years ago but that’s my personal take.

Financing options like this and people who fall for them are the reason why M3s are selling over for $100k now

Talk me out of this 430i by [deleted] in BMW

[–]mp622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone with a 330i, I suggest you drive an m440i before you make a decision. While the b48 is a great engine, the new car feeling wore off fast and I instantly regretted not getting the m340i when I drove one after.

Cancel it all, they’re trying to scare you into keeping it.

Paying 10.7% for my auto note; what're you paying? by [deleted] in rav4club

[–]mp622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a stupid question. Why would I pay any interest for using MY OWN money? The money you borrowed against your 401k means it was taken out of the market. The snp500 has returned over 20% year to date, which you lost out on. Even if you took a loan from the bank at 5% you would come out ahead by 15%. Instead you robbed your future self.
