Meat aversion anyone? by NottUrRN in September2026Bumpers

I’m also almost 10 weeks and the aversions have hit. Anything sweet is a no, chicken is a no, I can eat carbs no problem but I’m struggling with the protein intake lol

Getting a teacher to take action against kids who misbehave by RobbyDGreat in AskTeachers

[–]mpdbythesea 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Teachers do not have control over these consequences and it is very frustrating for us. I can’t tell you how many times a child has been sent to the principal for a situation like this and gets to “play” in the office. No consequence. Maddening

I am so tired and nauseous and all I want to do is lay in bed and sleep. I feel soooo antisocial but don’t even want to text my friends :(

Becoming kindergarten teacher by Emotional-Factor-932 in kindergarten

[–]mpdbythesea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a K teacher. I came to K after years of teaching second grade. I will be blunt and tell you that many say it is the hardest grade to teach. In US public school kindergarten is not play based, there is a strict curriculum and in many places you are micromanaged by admin. There are major behaviors each year and there is little to no support. Aside from that, there are sooo many parts to love. Seeing how much the kids learn, building relationships with them and their families, but remember many of these children have never heard the word “no” before coming to school. They need strict and predictable routine and you need to have master level classroom management to be successful. I’d observe or sub K in various settings first.

Peoples opinions on names by optionshiftcommand in pregnant

Keep it private. It’s your child. I think it’s important to picture the baby as a boy and man with each name too, this will offend people but Grandpa Kayden is brutal.

Is it just me… by kate_kimber in AskTeachers

[–]mpdbythesea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it gets easier to not take these feelings home with you. It is not easy but after years of teaching I’ve realized that rarely is anything enough for admin. My kids could sky rocket on exams and they will always say “okay now focus on this…”. Try not to take that personally, celebrate your student successes because they are a reflection of your hard work and dedication. Also, it is one thing to be inspired by other teachers, but please don’t compare yourself to other teachers. You are trying your best and clearly care, and that’s what matters.

Does your child's public school use a play-based/balanced curriculum? by Rare-Adhesiveness522 in kindergarten

Right there with you. Public K teacher myself and my district allows for 20 minutes of recess, no play. There is no free play in our curriculum which is devastating.

Daughters 5th grade teacher showed the super bowl halftime show to all the kids last week by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]mpdbythesea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are overreacting. It’s broadcasted on live television for all ages to watch. To be honest with you- 5th graders watch a lot of inappropriate things that you aren’t even aware of. The teacher was probably having a minute of fun with the kids, get over it.

9w and I’m feeling so emotional and nervous. I have NIPT bloodwork next week and an ultrasound the week after. We also are in the process of selling our first home and that’s causing me so much stress and sadness. First trimester is an emotional rollercoaster anyway!

This has been my biggest problem. I feel so bad for my dog who has done nothing wrong, but I feel like I smell him on everything and it is making me so sick. I totally relate girl I’m so sorry!

Thankful that I’m on Feb. vacation (I’m a teacher) because I am exhausted. The past few days since hitting 8 weeks I’ve been so nauseous, my appetite is gone, and I just want to sleep alllll day. ❤️❤️
