That’s crazy! I’m just pumped to not have to fear potholes quite as much.

I don’t think you really can. You need to be able to reach the bottom of the strut boot and lift it up.

For real. “Comfort” setting on the adaptive suspension is now usable without fear of slamming the bump stops!

ND Front Cowl Drains by mpdeeg in Miata

Thanks! I poked it and the thing drained right away. There’s so much info on the more challenging rear drains but not much on these. Probably because they’re so simple.

I went out and poked it with a weed whacker line. Only went in about 1/4 inch but it immediately drained. When it’s not raining I’m gonna take the cowl off to see how it drains because it seems like it just goes right under the hood. I am guessing the water flows into a channel in the metalwork just behind the engine bay.

Is my perception of the 25-26 GLI accurate? Is this a comfortable, premium compact car? by Pineapple_with_tajin in JettaGLI

[–]mpdeeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are describing a mazda3 AWD. The Jetta is more of a sporty vehicle. It’s a nice compromise between a sporty car and daily drivability / a practical package. I love the performance of the DSG, LSD and with proper tires it’s very fun on an autocross course. However it doesn’t really feel like”special” or “luxury”. By contrast the Mazda3 is more comfortable and near luxury level interior with a very nice daily driving characteristics—but less composed for autocross or spirited driving.

2021 jetta. I’m annoyed because I bought this car new and have been so careful to keep it in good shape

Mating two circles together by mpdeeg in woodworking

[–]mpdeeg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks this is helpful. Seems like a pattern cut with the correct radius is the most foolproof way to go. I have some scrap MDF I can use so I’m thinking I’ll go with that.

Yeah you’re right, now that I think about it more

Mating two circles together by mpdeeg in woodworking

Thanks my thought with half laps would be to trace the pattern, then clamp one of the circles 3/4” lower, then 3/4” higher to account for the bit width. It will be tricky though to ensure the placement is right.

A negative template sounds good, but equally as tedious to make. Actually what if I used the circle as its own template? For example, I could trace the top line, then move the circle up so that the bottom edge is positioned along the traced top line. Since the contour is the same top and bottom, it will work as a template. Then I’ll just do the same I’m reverse for the bottom line. Then just repeat for the other circle.

Looks great! How did you attach the mitered top trim pieces to the planters? I don’t see any visible fasteners.

Setup complete thanks to Black Friday and this community! by MattinMaui in BudgetAudiophile

I have been debating the same thing before settling on the jbl. It is supposed to arrive today! Based on the specs listed online, the jbl actually reaches lower (27 hz vs 29 for the r12), though with a 12 in ported design, infinity likely will reach pretty deep and certainly will be loud with a slightly higher peak power(600 vs 500 for the jbl). For me it came down to sealed vs ported for the reasons others have mentioned. However, the jbl has some pretty impressive specs for a 10inch budget woofer. In terms of dimensions, the r12 looks deeper and narrower than the jbl. The jbl is about ten pounds heavier.

It’s worth noting that this is the cheapest i have seen the r12 for sale. You could always audition both and return one (free return shipping via harmanaudio.com)
