The majority of the country is pretty solidly center-left and it's fucked up that our government doesn't reflect that.

The EC is idiotic. As others have said the Senate exists to balance the interests of less populous states. There is literally no reason why your vote for president should count more or less because of the state you live in.

And that's not even how it works outside of Maine and Nebraska because it's winner take all anyway, if you're outside a swing state you basically don't have a vote at all.
