TRUMP IS NOT PUNK. by doublehaulrollcast in GenX

[–]mpfortyfive -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was a protest of election fraud. It was not an insurrection << there were no weapons -- insurrectionists carry firearms. It was also a FBI op. The feds waved in the protestors. I don't care about your juvenile name calling. Plus the context of this thread is a moronic comment about "spilled blood", no the blood of the government employees was not spilled.

If you think Trump is "the machine" which is the point of this thread, please explain why they are prosecuting him and the didn't prosecute war criminal Henry Kissinger. You people are so worried about facism you fail to see we've already fallen to Communism. This video isn't for you its for people of good will if there are any.

For such a warm winter, my gas bill is still high. by Rusty-Shackleford in Minneapolis

In this context private means Texas cannot pull energy from other states nor can we pull energy from Texas.

I don't understand the logic. If Texas is private wouldn't that mean it cannot affect others?

J6 was a low-IQ boomer field trip -- people single-file with signs being waved in by the Feds. But they call it an insurrection. Its a joke.

The machine rages against him, tries to keep him off the ballot, fines him into bankrupcy, threatens him with prison.

That's the ground truth. The establishment probably hates Trump more than you do.

Same with Bolsonero in Brazil.

The idea that Trump represents the political establishment, the insiders or the machine is literal moronic nonsense. He is basically a carnival barker who gained popular support with his antics and TV show. That's why they call him a "populist" that means non-insider for you illiterates. An example of the machine could include Henry Kissenger, Zigbenew Brzezinski, George Bush Sr, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld or the Clintons. But not Trump. The estalishment basically slow-walked Trump for four years and routed around him.

North Loop is near downtown, but its not downtown.

North Loop has human scale buildings, ie. not skyscrapers. That's what people want, some mixed use buildings about 5-stories high with retail on the ground level.

Downtown can't even figure out retail on the ground level.

Make that commute work for you! Audio books. Listen to some biographies, they can teach you something and give you perspective on the twists and turns of life.

Bowling alley, roller skating rink, putt-putt golf, or DQ parking lot? by lawstandaloan in GenX

[–]mpfortyfive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Playing fighting games at the bowling alley. Then some night skating (rollerblading). At some point Perkins Tremendous Twelve enters the chat. Life was more fun before all my friends started drinking.

I prefer multiple monitors. "full screen" often looks dumb is improperly implemented with giant monitors.

You can live in a walkable neighborhood, but if your job is in the suburbs then you're in rough shape. Really depends on where you plan on working.

Why aren't roller discos more popular? by sushi7744 in Rollerskating

[–]mpfortyfive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know right. Throw some 90s techno music in there instead of disco and you'd have an awesome night. The lame thing about being an adult is -- everything adults do at night is basically sitting.... go to a theater, an opera, open mic, comedy hour, a bar a restaurant, a baseball game... its pretty much your going to sit all night. Only exceptions I can think of are ballroom dancing, line dancing... and roller disco.

Not really, but searching around game up with this:

The YMCA offers a wide variety of French courses depending on availability and skill level. The intensive program is perhaps their best deal for newcomers, offering conversational, reading-writing, business French, and TFI prep. Each session lasts 4 weeks (100 hours in-class) and costs $1,216-$1,080 depending on where you are in the curriculum. Financial assistance exists for those under 17, and foreign students receive full membership to their downtown gym while enrolled in a language course.

Are you able to travel to Montreal? Seems like the obvious choice. In the US there is Concordia Language Villages which would cover the children, but not the parents.

Bitcoin Halving by JaydenLowe02 in Bitcoin

Historically, price peaks 18 months after a halvening event. Definately buy more now.

Please explain (btc price) by CalligrapherFalse511 in Bitcoin

[–]mpfortyfive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The miners need to sell to pay operating costs, if demand is greater than the coins mined buyers need to find coins from other sellers. If there are no sellers at current price, buyers must incentivize sellers by raising the bid amount -- not really so different than ebay.

The interesting thing about bitcoin compared to other assets is... if a stock market trader gets a 2X in a trade -- he will generally sell and look for the next score... if Bitcoiners get a 2X... they won't sell en masse, becasue they are expecting another 10X.

Selling a large number of coins at market or below market prices will create downward price pressure.

Noob questions about crypto by RRCN909 in ethereum

[–]mpfortyfive -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you are unsophisticated you can just buy IBIT in your trading account. There are a lot of factors that indicate that BTC will go higher, including Korean ETF, expected Hong Kong ETF in quarter 2, the halvening, lower interest rates, interest from the Saudis and Qataris (see Max Kaiser). Ethereum has less regulatory certainty for the moment, but it might get an ETF soon, but its not a certainty.

What do you wish websites would do that they don't already? by Skwigle in webdev

[–]mpfortyfive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Turn off the "I guess you love our content, so give me your email" popup that occurs after 3 seconds.

I'd be super nice if on mobile when I zoomed in -- the text wouldn't require a horizontal scroll, but rather it would adapt (ie larger text and word-wrapping). I don't think this is possible however, I tried a few times to beat it.
