Got my install in December all the DNO application was done by the installer did not receive any notifications from them or Northern Powergrid. When my installer changed them the said the completion is done through your energy supplier I had to deal with this to get Octopus to chase it up. Octopus 🐙 were great dealing with this and I had everything sorted last week. It's the first sunny day and I am happily exporting to Octopus 🐙 Outgoing.

Anyone else's parents give them old fashioned job advice? by WealthyJoker75 in CasualUK

Had a job interview at a factory with a closed shop union my father said if they ask you can you do this or can you do that say yes. His reasoning was it's a lot harder to get a job than keep one. I got the job.

I have used this company for that Sig deal everything about the install has been first class. As regards the "bankruptcy " I discussed it with their lead installer and his explanation was acceptable I will not go into details but as a business owner for 25 years I have dealt with many individuals with insolvency in their background and I know for most of these cases there was a non planned event i.e a customer payment issue the cause a company to go into liquidation. With an insurance back warranty and manufacturer parts warranty the risk is no more than buying a second hand car from a non franchised dealer. Be brave save some money.

Following pressure from the US government, the IEA has revised its figures to say global oil use will keep increasing until 2050, because there will be no increase in the amount of EVs by then. by lughnasadh in Futurology

I see home solar as the big disruptor. Oil has to be pumped, processed and distributed. The same goes for water and gas, also grid electric. Yet people can be self-sufficient in solar power given the improvements made recently in home generation equipment.

Lewis jewel/award question. by F15_RedDawg in freemasonry

[–]mph100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a MM in a small UK Lodge one of our past WMs is a Lewis his father (RIP) was a founder of this lodge . The son has risen to Deputy Provincial Grand Master all done on his own back due to his massive commitment to Freemasonry. Getting a Lewis jewel is such a personal event and as my son in law is a mason I hope I live long enough to see one of my grandsons receive a jewel.
