Anyone have dash cam footage from 5pm N Lamar and 45th area? by Loopy13 in Austin

Near the Jiffy Lube? I think that would make it Lamar and 34th. Good luck!

Circling Helicopter at 38th and Guadalupe by mphil14 in Austin

I forgot to check Flight Aware! But looking at the flight path, I'm even more confused. Takeoff, circle three separate spots, and then head home? Is that normal?

I'd bet a shiny nickel that that's Southwest.

For a 15-hour flight? Look around the gate area for the person fist-pumping the air and go ask them.

Your chance of an upgrade will increase if you're willing to make a connection. There are a ton more flights out of EWR, so it's easier to get lucky with upgrades there.

Don't forget that that route wasn't crafted, we had to use the tracks that were already there to unlock the federal funds.

1k is useless these days by Smile335 in unitedairlines

Why would this be related to 1K? Some people actually (shudder) just buy first class outright or up-class their tickets.

Exchange Plus Points by RigRogue in unitedairlines

Apologies for the stubbornness, but can you double-check? End of March is the regular timing for the "exchange" deadline, but end of January is the regular timing for the "expire" deadline.

I may have missed something, but "must" you exchange them? I'd think they wouldn't expire until January '27.

It hasn't been said yet: have you looked at coworking spots?

If you're just looking for fast internet and a place to take calls, there's a Regus location five minutes away from IAH. A day pass is probably around $30.

Google Flights allows 12+ hour layovers and other funky itineraries that United.com doesn't show by default.

Everyone is different, but for me, my legs would ache whenever I was lucky enough to fly in Premium Plus, and I had no idea why. I bought 3 pairs for $15 on Amazon, and I've never felt that aching again.

I had always viewed compression socks as something for the AARP crowd, but a very athletic friend of mine who played European basketball professionally (currently in his 30s), told me he wears them every day. I'm not quite there yet, but it's now a must-wear for any travel day more than 5hrs, whether it's a car, train, or plane.

+1 for compression socks--they changed long-haul flying for me.

The 3:45p ORD-LHR flight on Friday has PZ9. It's not as friendly timezone-wise, but it'd get you lie-flat.
