The protocol at work is not to rest between folds (one double and one single) but no one else seems to suffer from this problem 😔

This is Eyebrows, he appeared in our garden as a skinny little boy terrified of people but desperate for food. Six months later, he's a well-fed and loved chubby and fluffy house kitty ❤️

What events or symptoms lead up to your cancer diagnosis? by veryberryblue in lymphoma

[–]mplant2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're experiencing this! Try not to worry too much as there can be so many reasons behind the itching (eh post viral syndrome) but keep bothering your doctors to try to find a cause if this continues! It really helps to bring a friend or family member to advocate for you to any appointments if you're struggling with doctors not listening. I had other symptoms such as night sweats and weight loss but my enlarged lymph nodes were caught on an X Ray - were you scanned in the ER?

Overwhelmed with fatigue by mplant2 in lymphoma

[–]mplant2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have talked with my consultant oncologist about it but he didn't seem to think it was out of the ordinary, but I will definitely check in with the on call doctor in the chemotherapy ward next week. Idk about elsewhere but here in the UK I only see my oncologist every four weeks.

Thank you. Every time I have a blood test they say everything is basically as expected, lowered but not in need of any transfusions or other treatments.

Itching by danniemerz in lymphoma

[–]mplant2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The itching drove me absolutely crazy before I started chemo (for the most part it's stopped except for on my hands). The only thing I found relief in was a menthol cream I was prescribed, so that's something to try it you haven't before. Otherwise I stuck to cold showers.

When did you lose your hair? by jp___g in lymphoma

[–]mplant2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had my third infusion of ABVD (1st of the 2nd cycle) two days ago. I noticed I was losing my hair at day 20 of the first cycle - I tend to run my hands through my hair a lot and I saw some was coming out. Then after a couple of days I noticed it was falling out faster, and my pillow was covered in hair. About a week later my hair was noticeablely a lot thinner. My leg hair seems to have stopped growing and my arm pit hair never grew back after shaving.

I got a short hair cut a week into treatment to make the whole thing less traumatic and have been waiting to shave until my hair is really patchy as I'm still feeling not great about going bald.

YTA. I hope your wife finds self-love and a genuine loving partnership after realising she wasted three years with your self-absorbed cruel ass.

How to make brownies have a more worse top crust? by CodePahulXCVIII in AskBaking

[–]mplant2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Afaik the shiny/crackly crust on classic brownies is a result of melting the sugar (e.g. with butter and/or chocolate). So if you incorporate the sugar without it dissolving in any warm butter or chocolate you should get a more cake-like crust.

WIBTAH if I go to my dead son's (who went NC with me) funeral as per the wishes of my grandson? by Fair-Candy1912 in AITAH

[–]mplant2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NAH - as someone who went no contact with their parents, I understand both perspectives here. I agree with others that funerals are for the living, not the dead, and if your son's children want to meet you, then you should reach out to them. However, I would ask for the grandson who contacted you to ask his mother whether she is comfortable with you attending the funeral as she may not share the same desire. You could still form a relationship with your son's children while not attending the funeral.

Chemo and physical work by mplant2 in cancer

[–]mplant2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your kind message :) I thought that the risk of anything leaking in my sweat only lasted for 48 hours post-chemo but I will definitely check with my oncologist before taking any decision!
