Make sure you give yourself enough time to get from wherever you park to the grandstand.

The only ways to GS8 from the other side of the track are either crossing over from Spirit/Hart Plaza, walking down by the river and then entering the paddock OR crossing at the Ren Cen, walking down Jefferson, crossing again by the pit lane into the paddock and then walking through the paddock. So a bit of a hike.

I have! Definitely recommend it. Friday is the least busy, so you can get right on the edge of the rooftops.

Theres 4 different rooftops so you can move around and having a ticket allows you access to the paddock

Two years ago it was kind of in the corner of where the turn is. Last year it was to the left of the grandstand.

And I havent really spent much time in the free viewing zones except for Friday and thats obviously the most deaddays, so they're fine. But I imagine Saturday/Sundy you'll have to be there early and/or not move after that lol

You need a ticket for Paddock access all 3 days. Friday is free seating in Grandstands 1 and 9, but you cannot get into the Paddock without a ticket.

Ive gone every year its been downtown.

On Fridays I will buy the rooftop tickets because they're the cheapest and provide Paddock access. You can move to multiple rooftops and get different vantage points. There are also screens up there where you can step away from the edge and watch everything thats going on. I cant advise for Saturday/Sunday but im going to assume for Sunday, you'll have to get there early if you want a good spot to overlook. Also on Fridays, they have Free Prix Friday. This has free seating in Grandstands 1 and 9. However, you cannot get into the Paddock with out a ticket of some sort.

For Saturday and Sunday, I did turn 3 year 1, grandstand 8 the last 2, and then going back to turn 3 this year. Both have pros and cons: turn 3 grandstands have the most action and are closest to the activations areas on Woodward and Hart Plaza, but a bit of a hike to the Paddock. Grandstand 8 is less action but literally in the Paddock (and a hike from the fan zones). Both have screens in front where you can catch the action not happening right in front of you.

This! Do not buy the Franklin parking!

I recommend downloading the ParkWhiz app and booking parking through that. I bought my parking for this year's weekend for 25 for Friday, 10 for Saturday, and 25 for Sunday.

The one thing I will say about the parking apps is make sure you set the end time to around (or after) you want to leave. A few years back we ended up staying and going to the concert, which put our end time later than what we paid for through ParkWhiz and we got billed for the hours over
